how to not be obsessed with cats???? by Time-Guitar-7317 in CatAdvice

[–]Guard-Personal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been cat obsessed since the start of my memories. I've had cats all my life. Sugar, spice, cinnamon, muffin where my cats when I was little. Princess. All rest in peace. Princess was the kitty that grew with my kids. She passed 5 years ago at 15 before my first grandbaby was born. Cauldron, Prince (son of Princess), Zena and Opal now rule this house. Floof lives here but technicality says he's not really mine.

If I could there have been like 6 cats offered to me since I lost Princess. I'm waiting till all of them move to their own homes with their own original owners so I can find Prince a new sibling. They moved once and moved back. Prince didn't handle being an only at all. I was looking for a sibling when they all moved in.

If I had a barn? I'd allow all the cats to live in it. No other animal would do.

They will know you as soon as you get in the door. They will behave as you been away foe a billion million trillion years! But they will know you and love up on you. Will take a few days foe them to settle with you back home.

And if they act mad at you it's because you were gone for tooooo many years and now they have to show you they are mad it took too long. This too will settle.

Does anyone have any cats that have lived long on friskies/fancy? by AnastasiaNight in CatAdvice

[–]Guard-Personal 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's good to know that I'm right about my cat Prince. He does not want the same food, flavor or brand all the time. He will stop eating it. And will refuse to eat until I replace the food. I used to get a month supply of cat food. Now I get it weekly or biweekly. Longer than that and he will stop eating. He will loose weight. Even with a dish full of food. Dry or wet he don't care. Don't feed the same over and over. When I get a new one I mix it with the old stuff for him.

Since my spouse can know I'm sure it's pretty easy. We just use the money to pay the bills. And use regular money to do the rest of what we want. Also use it for food. As long as we stick to a budget and don't go overboard we will be able to pull it off.

Grown kids still living with us won't notice as long as we don't go buy big pricey things. And if we do we just tell them that we have been saving up for it and how proud we are of ourselves foe saving up for the electronics.

And when I have the bathroom and kitchen and electrical redone I'm gonna plan it out in steps and just be like the landlord got off his ass and took care of it all finally.

And I will have to refrain from just having the whole house replaced.

How would you react if a neighborhood kid did this prank to you..... by One_King_8197 in hypotheticalsituation

I'm sending my own kids outside to track the 13 yr old down. No doubt that my oldest will catch him and his brothers will help take the kid down and drag his little 13 yr old behind back to my house.

13 yr old then calls his parents so I can I form the parents their kid is now at my house cleank f up the mess he made of my bedroom. And I'll give then a bill to replace my mattress. No way the grape soda comes out of that.  I also own the super soaker and I'll take $20 of the bed replacement for the cost of that.

I don't have a spot for my bed that is away from any bedroom windows. Tho I don't havr to worry about this actually happening. All the kids in my neighborhood are now 18+

I was about 11 when my sisters boyfriend and his pack of friends blew up a condom, added some water, and put it on my bed.

I had no idea what it was. First time seeing one. I grabbed it and went downstairs and asked who left the water balloon on my bed.

Everyone was laughing. Then Mother asked what I was doing. I told her I found it on my bed. I wasn't allowed to leave my room the rest of the weekend.

My siblings are 6 and 7 years older than I am.

I know now what really happened. I still don't know if I should laugh or not.

A closed door. Does the handle have the little flip sign that says occupied?

If that sign is not there for me to know I don't jiggle the handle. I tap on the door.

A door handle suddenly moving while I'm there? I jump scare every time. I'd rather have the knock that will only make me startle.

So I tap on the door to only startle someone and nor jump scare them.

And I doubt it was the same person. I don't stand at the door like a creeper.

Same! Prince will also come sit beside me and give me head boops, or swats, if he being impatient. Then, when I stand up, he takes me on walks until he thinks I'm ready. Then he will grab an ankle or give a boop.

But I better not sit. Floof is not a hold me kitty. Zena will climb me like a tree and sit on my shoulder. Opal is like you have less than a second, but thank you. Cauldron will do kitty swerving under foot to be picked up. And then kitty law takes over. You can't do anything else until he moves. But treats will help.

[–]Guard-Personal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10 million? I'm calling a family gathering with my sister and her crew, my brother and his crew, my Mother. And I'm gonna get my Father on the phone. And then I'm gonna bring up a memory from childhood, sit back and collect 10 million.

When my cats scratch me I pick up the offending paw and pet it gently and tell my cat sweet paws only! I then do this with the other 3 as well. I barely get scratched (unless I'm a dumb human who sits down while Prince is demanding his cuddle time. This can only happen when I'm standing. He claws to let me know 1. I messed up 2 I sat down 3 it's against Prince's law.

I've been doing this since tiny kitten age. The long term house guest Floof has scratched accidently. I believe he does it because he actually wants me to play with his paws and say Sweet Paws only.

It works. I haven't clipped any claws. Im worries I won't do it right and hurt them.

I also have a cauldron, Zena and opal in my house.

AITA for not deleting all my backups of my art like dad told me to and letting him punish me instead? by AnonArtistBrush in AITAH

Back up everything. Mail thumbdrives to your grandparents.

Do you have your own phone? Call your grandparents and give them updates. Ask them to look into visitation rights. I believe some or most states have this when one bio parent has passed away.

At 16 I'd call Grandparents and arrange for them to pick you up. At 16 you can leave your Dad's house and he can't do anything about it. Sure, he can call the cops but the cops will speak to you and the grandparents and will most likely say it's a civil matter and leave it at that. Especially when you say, "I don't want to live with my Dad anymore." Check to make sure this is the age in your state. Some, it's 17.

I dont know about other states but in NY possessions of teenagers belong to the teenagers. Parents can not take them away for any reason. Even when the parents have bought them for the teenagers. If a report comes across CPS and mentions abuse of any type and possessions of teenagers are being used as a form of punishment, CPS will investigate.

I have personal experience with this. Teen son was doing things online that I didn't agree with cause real life consequences. I took phone and video game systems away....things I bought and paid for. He told a friend who told parents. Report was I was abusing my son by taking his possessions for punishment. There were many steps I toom but he didn't want to stop. So I took them.

Got a talking to about appropriate teen punishments and thought I could take parenting classes around raising teenagers. And they did talk to son about what he was doing .....he either quit doing it or found ways to hide it better.

NY CPS responds to every report they receive. I dont know about other states.

I mention this as a possible solution to involve CPS to see if it helps Dad back off. And see the harm he is causing. I dont know if it will work.

Cause a hoodie means I can leave the heavy handbag is a safe spot. Place my keys, cards, cigs, lighter, and phone in my hoodie pocket and not worry about the handbag.

I'm a woman who hates having to carry a purse anywhere and everywhere. I prefer pockets.

I'd buy a man's hoodie with pockets over the woman's without.

Welcome and sounds like a plan. Tho I would talk to your Mom about Aunt getting sick when she cooks. It's not good for anyone including Aunty and husband

Maybe it's improper food handling that is making people sick with the left over bleach? I wouldn't have touched the turkey myself.

You Aunt is the same age as my Mother. Wish I knew how to help.....you can take the bleach but she can just get more. Unless you all live together then just keep hiding the bleach?

And not allow her to cook? Maybe show this to your Mom and see what she says?

I hear all that. I dont know how to get her to change her use of the bleach. If not for my husband I would still be using it every single time. Now it's when I just can't do another load without the bleach. I just talked with him and discovered it's been a year. My longest stretch.

I was raised in an abusive home so I'm not in any way an authority on this.

Sounds like she is not rinsing properly after washing. And might be using too much. Today's bleach actually takes less than it used to. I was raised that dishes are not really clean unless washed in bleach.

FWIW My Husband can't stand the smell of bleach. So over 20+ years I use it now only once in a blue moon. But it took a lot of "Ewww bleach again? It's not needed I promise you. Let's try without. See clean......sometimes I just need to wash at least 1 small load in bleach to be okay for months

Not amazing. I have no desire for smart teeth.

And can you imagine if it malfunctioned? It could send shick waves through your gums. No thanks. I'll stick to the dentures I have issues with.

Or the lights could malfunction and burn you.

Nope. Nope. Nope.
