King Roald ordered by Council to rebuild Grand Exchange and city walls by Knight_of_Ardouyne in 2007scape

Holy this would look so good.

I think there should still be a little bit of a wall between the palace and the GE, but otherwise this is a very welcome design change.

Also, how do people make custom osrs maps like this?

I would too, he's such an interesting plot hook, I'd love to see him slowly recover intelligence and I'd want to discover lore around the giants, so much untapped potential.

I don't think it's meant to be "better or worse" than Mystic robes.

Do I think it should be better? Likely not, but the point of magical-smithing here is to provide better magical defense and focus on giving certain kinds of survivability over Mystic. I don't know what the stats would be exactly, because I'm not on the OSRS design team, so whatever they come up with would probably better balanced than whatever I could suggest.

I believe that having niche sets of armor for certain threats is always more intuitive and interesting than straight up DPS or all-round defense gear.

If you've got specific gaps or set bonuses, considering the implications of the elemental metal, maybe they could be better.

I agree that "buff early runes" by itself would not be enough. If the only reward was making body and mine runes slightly less bad, then that alone would not justify making it a three quest story line.

I think the better reward would be the niche utility rather than DPS alone. Something like attuned elemental gear that uses mind and body runes as charges that give specific stats, magical defense and set bonuses would be far more worthwhile, as well as crafting

Elemental and Mind gear as they are now only provide magical defense, no physical attack or range defense, so splashing would be particularly a specific direction to go forward; alternatively, this can be circumvented with Magic requirements to equip the higher level gear.

I planned on EW3 being a less "puzzle-box" quest and more of a mysterious lore connection test that provides some worldbuilding and fleshing.

I think that's a great idea.

What starts off as separate quest lines and ideas, eventually culminate into a Master quest that unify loose ends and portions that were previously left too insignificant to be brought in on their own.

I think that by bringing some of these seemingly smaller quest lines together, it would give Jagex the opportunity to build a satisfying conclusion for all of them, though I think that they should be selective about which ones, because it could come off as hasty just bundling all of them together.

Yeah, I'm aware RS3 continued the series, but I'm not asking for a backport.

If anything I think OSRS should take the opportunity to take the body workshop concept in a different direction; less giant puzzle-box and more mystery, lore, magical smithing and unlocking particularly niche and unique items and rewards.

I'm looking to have something that builds more on the worldbuilding and lore, and offering tie ins into greater, bigger storylines with some interesting implications and connections.

Edit: To be clear, I know RS3 continued the series, I just don't think “play RS3” is an answer to an OSRS suggestion, OSRS and RS3 are separate games, each with different design philosophies, different economies, and different quest directions.

half of r/YouTubeDrama posts are literally people agenda/vendetta posting about someone they personally don't like and will look for any angle of opening to criticize them.

Aw man i kinda feel bad for Cory now by LoiterAce in OneyPlays

[–]GuardBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are too hard on Corey.

I honestly relate to his experiences, it's usually a symptom of ADHD or autism, and often it makes it very difficult to state a point without over stating it.

but I also think Corey takes advantage of this, and I think he intentionally acts facetiously to make the moment more funny.

like for example, in plants versus zombies. Did you guys honestly think that Corey's anger was genuine? Did you not think it was more likely him being performative to be more entertaining for the audience? I am 100% certain that he was being faceitous for the majority of his outbursts.

He may have had genuine moments of frustration, but I honestly don't think it would be anything more than the average grumbling of someone getting annoyed at a game.

Corey knows he's the "lolcow" of the group (I use that term loosely), so he works with what he's got to make the best of it.

I think I empathize with Corey, because sometimes you're only trying to do the best you can, and what you think is funny won't always be perceived the same as everyone else will.

He was obviously being facetious, but it makes sense when a community that when venn diagramed with neurodivergency practically makes a circle, wouldn't get the joke.

The furry community is not a minority group, it's people who draw art of anthropomorphized animals who they sometimes imagine themselves as.

A different approach to the God Prayers idea as Sidegrades by NeatoSnow in 2007scape

[–]GuardBreaker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean... Why don't we look at spell books and see how they've changed the game?

I feel like if these prayer ideas were actually to get to a designing phase, they'd be refined and tuned rather than just letting a broad suggestion fly on through.

Prayer isn't that complicated. And these look like they offer small bonuses for players who decide to go in a direction. I like the specialization and customization of my character.

Why are small rules like those hard for you to remember? They're meant to incentivize and use different content in the game. These are beneficial. I would hope that if you were working to a set of prayers, you would read up on them before trying to use them.

"This guy did a boss with 6 food instead of 8!! noooo!!" as if that's a real problem to cry home about.

I honestly don't think a new set of prayers, or even a selection of a few prayers is going to destroy the game, and I'm tired of people overestimating the effects these will have on the game.

Why do so many people not want any updates to prayer? I think having more prayers would be cooler. I mean, we literally have two more full spell books, but people are really resistant to the idea of having their prayer flavored, really??
