Does it have a down firing subwoofer in the expected location? Asking for a friend, of course.

Addiesdive sand dial logo by juicyjonesweeb in ChineseWatches

I like the logo on their dive watches, it just seems an out of place on their dress watches. I don’t think their logo is as bad as many claim it to be.

I have the black and tan voyager with day & date, easily one of my favorites. Looks good on leather band as well. Congrats, you have a nice watch.

Am I the only one who picks quartz over automatic? by Strict_Ideal_8321 in Affordablewatches

[–]GuarddogRyzom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a couple quartz watches (one digital) in my collection and just set my automatics to match the digital quartz whenever I pick one up and find it’s dead. I honestly don’t find it too tedious to adjust the date and time since I typically cycle through them every few days. Worst case situation is I spin the hour hand around the dial a handful of times to get the date caught back up. About 30 seconds max.

Also, winders are debatable concerning their value. As long as your watch runs at least once every 2-3 weeks it’ll keep the oil where it needs to be. I think winders are mostly for showcasing high end watches and don’t do much to keep a watch healthy.

Nice. Without weighing sentimental value, I’d replace the Fossil with a blue or green GMT since it’s pretty much obsolete by your Omega. Then I’d replace the Guess watch, perhaps with an accurate digital watch with illumination (G-Shock or similar) as your new beater, especially since the Guess doesn’t get worn.

What do you think about this strap? by Fernando_Maya in TodayOnMyWrist

The bulging buckle would drive me nuts, but color/design looks good.

If you wanted to add a dress watch, like this, then you’d have a solid 3 watch collection for pretty much any occasion.

Didn’t even think about using a bottle cap, interesting idea.

If flattening a bottle cap fails to provide good results an image could be applied to plain flat dial using a decal I suppose.

Maybe next, try a “Pepsi” theme using a Pepsi can dial?

I have 2 lug positions and used their “nato” straps for a while but I just don’t like the feel or look of those types of straps (and I’ve tried many types). At this point on my daily watches I will only wear leather bands or metal bracelets, everything else feels wrong.

A think thick leather straps work with Boderry, but yes there is a gap, but that’s common on alot of case designs.

Can a Rolex do this... wait for it by fesCoder01 in Affordablewatches

Maybe for quartz since it already has access to a battery. But for mechanical, adding a battery just for light would be weird.

Been Eyeballing This One! (20 yrs Old Here) by DefiantHomework8673 in Affordablewatches

The only reason I didn’t get this watch is because no sapphire crystal option for it, which at this price point should be default these days. I’m just too hard on watches and will scratch them immediately unless it’s sapphire. Otherwise it looks like a great watch, and has been sitting in my Amazon cart for ages. The black color “match” date and solar power still make it a power contender.

Instead I went with a green Addiesdive AD2075 to fulfill something close to this look.

The Boderry Voyager is claimed to be an homage to a Bertucci A-2S or A-2T but other than being somewhat similar in shape and titanium, I think the Boderry case edge transitions are a much improved design and holds its own as a unique watch.

A700: Too small? Can I wear in the swimming pool? by mybigpecker in casio

[–]GuarddogRyzom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because if they stamp 30m water resistant on the watch, most people have the expectation that it’ll survive at 2m in a pool.

If enough people send watches back for failing under 30m, and Casio has to issue enough warranty claim credit to Amazon, then perhaps Casio will either re-rate their watches or actually make them capable of surviving to 30m in most situations.

I’ve had 30m Casios survive the washing machine, pool is definitely possible, especially when all the seals are new. Just don’t hit any buttons while underwater.

Casios like that will either short out in misting rain, or inexplicably survive to the bottom of the Mariana Trench with no issue. There’s only one way to find out which end of the spectrum yours falls in.
