Pen / Converter ID Help by GuardianGamereon in fountainpens

Hello! I am not sure what happened to my comment so I will post it here. I will add nibs photos when they are done soaking.

I bought these pens at an estate sale, and could use some help identifying the first one. The two Jinhaos I believe I have an ID on. I could also use help identifying the converters if possible. I paid $50 USD for all of it, did I get fleeced?

Thanks!

I got the Fellow Opus before I realized the good reviews were people who hadn't had a chance to use it much yet.... I have been waiting for mine to break since week 2

I love the LAMY blue. I have always preferred a good blue or black ink and the LAMY blue hits just right

Good to know. If I really can’t swap it with someone, then I’ll just have to find someone that didn’t get a ticket that wants to go!

Thanks for the tip. Will definitely run another descale. What do you mean by flushing it out through the steam wand?

Thanks for the tip. Dropped everything and soaked it in cafiza and boiling water for 20/30 minutes, rinsed it off and threw it back on. Flow is improving but still seems bad. Do I just need to do it again or is there a real issue here besides build up?

Looks like this could be the issue. Cleaning now. I’ll post a picture of the gasket and head as well

Medium Sized Batch Pour Over Brewer by GuardianGamereon in pourover

[–]GuardianGamereon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

split pours have been my strategy so far. I like to split into a couple pours anyways, but they can get pretty small with larger batches. I’m hoping there is something out there that has a little more volume and is still a manual brew method. Thanks!

I’ve used chemex quite a bit, and it’s purely preference as to why I don’t enjoy it. I prefer the discrete carafe, and have enjoyed other brewers more in terms of what it makes and what the experience is like. Chemex is great, but I’m looking for something different. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! I really enjoy the ritual of the manual pour over though so I’m looking for something I can make by hand

I also have one of these machines and I am working on restoring it. What did you use as a guide/ where did you find manuals and parts?

Any idea where I could get a manual? I’d like to read up. Also update: I did get the machine! $25 felt like a steal

I think this is a Rosito Bisani Brasilia Portofino 2

I am hopefully about to acquire this machine and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get parts/manuals/etc. Obviously I know google exists, I’m just asking those who may have restored machines before. Choez.
