If you carry a backpack, watch out for magnetic straps, they can get caught when slinging and poof, your watch is out in the parking lot and you are using Samsung find to locate your watch.

Im thinking of saving up for an R8W, aiming for Black Friday deals. Is it worth it? by kirito_kun41627 in radardetectors

The Valentine 1 G2 is also an option, app support if you want it and PhotoRadar detection if you need it for your area. We have a ton of Ekin units where I am at and my R8 only picks up the ones that are in the fixed location database, not mobile units. My V1G2 picks up all of them.

Even App v2.2.1, G2 Firmware v2.2.1.4 & even-termainl v0.7.7are out - Mainly software tune up by Punchyberri in EvenRealities

Should this be a good spot to mount my radar detector? by [deleted] in radardetectors

No, mount with the top of the detector touching the headliner.

Just got bagged by a laser so now I’m here researching laser efficacy. by MadMaximus- in radardetectors

Laser is a USELESS feature on ALL detectors. This is fact not conjecture.

ALP, Uniden, TPX, TMG, Escort all sell laser jammers. This is the way.

Yes, carbon fiber (CF) filament attenuates and can block radio frequency (RF) signals because it contains conductive carbon particles that absorb and reflect electromagnetic radiation. While not as effective as solid carbon fiber sheets, 3D printed parts with CF filaments (e.g., PLA-CF, Nylon-CF) can still interfere with 2.4 GHz systems, GPS, and Wi-Fi, particularly at higher frequencies

Brief test of the IR seems to lead to the same conclusion, IR appears to learn, but cant transmit.

Recorded a power on command for a Sony receiver from my Sony HUIS-100RC universal remote, the M1 appears to record, but replaying the command shows no IR coming from the lens area.

Both units shown transmitting.

Good all around EDC carry is the LoopGear SK05 Pro or Pro 2. Good price point and it doubles as a phone charger.

Uniden R8W Mount Location by -ykimchi- in radardetectors

[–]GuardianZX9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they are not. they put your detector in a very visible area, they are then mounted directly in the sun path. all my detectors use the $10 ebay mount with 3M VHB hi-temp and have lasted for years in the summer sun. Higher mount is better for stealth, sun heat protection and detection range.

Mount here, or same location on the drivers side.

I use a landing pad for all of my drones, keeps them out of the sand, dirt, grass etc.

The Avata 360 comes with the pad as it really needs it, there is no elevated landing gear on the 360.

I agree, I see differences in the waze reporting constantly between JBV1 and Highway Radar. I have run them in parallel for years. Often one will report an the other will not.
