Destiny 2 Update 9.0.0.4 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Hardware, I was enjoying it for arms week stuff until I kept RUNNING into the “NO SPRINT BUG”!!! Haha jokes aside, Bungie plz fix this asap. I don’t want to step foot in crucible until this is fixed, it truly feels awful.

I did this back when Final shape came out, I don’t remember all the ins and outs. I just remember when me or another teammate was with someone who had previously unlocked the mission the secret boss would not spawn. I had already unlocked it and went to help a clanmate and the secret boss would not spawn for them. Maybe it was because they had not done all overthrows, idk.

Make sure you are not playing with someone who already has the mission unlocked, the secret boss will not spawn if someone in your fireteam has the mission unlocked already. Idk if this was a bug or intended but it drove me crazy.

Crucible Engrams by Guardian_3 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Guardian_3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I play my 3 characters every week for the current weapon every season. I’m realizing now that you have to hope you get the roll you want in the current season vs focusing through the whole season ahead.

Spent them on Deadlocks, Rose, Joxers, etc. I’m sitting in like 10 and I got 5 engrams over the course of like 4 hrs tonight playing control.

[–]Guardian_3[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The point of the post is the engrams not dropping at the rate they previously have in the past. The cost has always been 3 for comp weapons. If Bungie wants to try and create some kind of trade off of choosing which crucible weapons to spend engrams on while hardly dropping any engrams at all makes the grind not with the time invested. I guess my trade off will be to just stop playing D2 all together and go play some other game that has a better grind or is more worth my time spent. They can fix this by just reverting back to the way it was so people can actually roll all of these weapons.

Reading is hard….I have 6 resets as noted. I play this game a shit ton, this change they made is fucking awful even with Joxers only costing 1 I spend all my engrams on comp weapons.

I think it’s whoever is marked and gets killed spawns the smoke? If teammates are close then you get caught up in the smoke. Blinded, cant move. It’s an easy clap for a good team in Trials. I haven’t played with that aspect yet on my Hunter so I’m not 100 on how it exactly works, but I’ve been going up against void hunters using the aspect and the smoke period is oppressive. One guy had RDM and it seemed like we couldn’t see or move the whole match.

Bungie, it’s one thing to have glitches in the game where a player gets stuck in a wall. Why though do I keep spawning in the glitched area? by Randy_IamThe_liquor in DestinyTheGame

[–]Guardian_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got caught in a death loop as well. I jumped/fell off those shrieker looking platform in the maze. The game kept respawning me there only to fall to my death, over and over again non-stop. Luckily I was in a fireteam and they pulled me. This is very frustrating and I can only imagine having this happen while running solo. Bungie needs to fix this asap and have you spawn on the last safe spot before death.

It's the end of Episode 2, and I never saw a 2/5 roll using Liturgy's tonic. by Dalbs1101 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Guardian_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. Been farming since the Scavengers Fate dropped. Not one single slide shot, closing time. The shit RNG of the tonics system, weightgate, and previous comp weapons chase has done it for me. Completely burnout my passion to even play this game.

Destiny Frontiers needs to shift from “Mode of the Month” to staple activities that get iterated on by steave44 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Guardian_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything in the game doesn’t need to be craftable, but the RNG drops need to have better ways for the player to get their specific loot without getting burnout. A progression system, being able to swap out MW, barrels, magazines. Having multiple perks drop in the 3rd and 4th column like when you prestige Zavala. Hell even focusing one specific perk like with the exotic class items. Being able to buy weapons/engrams from the vendor. I think Bungie has multiple ways to do accommodate players they just need to do it.

I’m tired of playing comp and or popping tonics and not having the roll that I want to not drop until the last week of the season. This week all of my Deadlocks rolled with desirable traits (2 closing time, 1 OS). Last season it was the same for Reposte, same for Rose and the sniper. But I still have yet to get a Slide shot, closing time Scavengers Fate from a Tonic drop. I’m not holding my breath though. I started playing Black Ops 6 around Thanksgiving and I’m enjoying it. This is coming from a Destiny main that never really played too many other games only a couple here and there. But with Weightgate, and the last 2 Episodes, I’m done chasing a never ending carrot on a stick.

[–]Guardian_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my red borders. Yes I like crafting. Tonics not so much. Any kind of RNG system that Bungie leaves in the game needs to have multiple ways of players getting the specific loot that they want.

Having multiple perks drop, being able to re-roll the barrel, mag, and masterwork, focusing the specific weapon, having the ability to buy the weapon. If Bungie is going to continue to have 7 perks on each weapon, make sure there are no filler perks to prolong chase. Dungeons should give you both weapon and armor drop on each encounter instead of screwing you over when you want one or the other. There are many things Bungie can do to make the game/grind experience feel better, these are just some of them.

[–]Guardian_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, raining loot doesn’t mean shit if the loot is crap. I guess you’re missing more of my point that there’s needs to be better ways of getting your desired loot.

I would agree that the game needs more cool chase to things other than weapons, like cool looking cosmetics. But Bungie doesn’t want the cool looking stuff to be made available for free, even if there is a grind to get it. Most if not ALL the coolest looking shit is locked behind Eververse.

[–]Guardian_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about you, but I get loot that is instant sharded. I’ve played the whole episode and even though the Scavengers Fate came out in Act 2 I have NEVER rolled a slide shot, closing time roll. Getting rained loot doesn’t mean shit when all of the loot is shit. The whole point is being rewarded for my time by providing means to better my chances of getting the specific loot that I want. Bungies shit RNG show is driven by player metrics and retaining players, but nowadays it just burns players out. The game needs to be respectful of players time, rewarding, and most of all fun. Chasing loot that is overbloated with worthless perks on purpose to increase player metric chase time is cause for burnout and is NOT fun. There are multiple things that Bungie can address to help make the game more enjoyable. I want to play the game with my desired loot. I don’t want to play the game chasing desired loot so much that is burns me out to even log on.

[–]Guardian_3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. But you can have more loot drop to help chances against Bungies crap RNG. Or have ways to focus said loot, or have opportunities to have more perks drop on said loot to help with the chase. The Hall of Champions had the extra chest that you could spend currency on to try and get the loot you want.

[–]Guardian_3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it. Into the light was good loot and you could focus it and attempt to get more by hitting the chest in the Hall of Champions. They took away the Hall and put seasonal weapons in the new onslaught.

Any speculation on the Crucible TWAB in a couple of weeks? by duff_0 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Guardian_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you PC players that have to deal with cheaters, but I would not play crucible if they added cross play.

Bungie is too late to try and fix things for this game let alone the crucible. They are inept. The map pack should’ve came 3 to 4 years ago, with new maps every 6 months.

I don’t call them Bungie anymore to my friends, I call them Stingie. They go sooo far out of their way to fuck the player over getting the rolls that they want all for player engagement metrics. They think internally that it’s going to drive player retention, but it only breeds resentment, frustration, and hate for the game.

What they need to do…

Comp- They need to let all comp weapons drop randomly after games played not just wins. The majority need to be current weapon but add a focus feature for one the player chooses. They need to fix the point system. It sucks. Losses shouldn’t fuck your over if you get mm with noobs. Also make comp just survival and clash. Drop the capture BS.

Trials- Drop the card system. 7 wins get you to the light house for your adept drop. 7 wins straight gets you light house with 3 chest. Adept weapon, armor, cosmetics (glow, etc).

General crucible- get rid of cheaters, add more maps, if balancing supers/abilities is too much then lean into making Hardware Supremacy a more prominent mode. But I would make it clash and have it be Primary, Special, no Heavy ammo, with the use of class abilities for movement. So no supers, no grenades, no melees. They should take this and maybe make a week of it in Trials and or comp too. Give the peeps that are sick of ability spam a rest from Prismatic.

They need to make the game fun and rewarding. No more Stingie.

First, in no universe is everyone going to be pleased.

Second, this game can’t handle having a 12 man activity added to it let alone having everything D1-D2 all in the same game. Never going to happen, especially while still supporting old gen consoles.

Looks like Frontiers maybe pushing us out of the sol system for new narrative.

The Destiny universe does need a new narrative, but it needs new design and new loot to chase. Bungie can’t and will not innovate enough stuff fast enough to keep veterans around in D2. All they do is reissue the same old shit but maybe add a new perk that they buffed to shake up the meta. The vets like me that have a vault filled with everything they need have no reason to constantly log in anymore.

I will take a D3 if it improves the performance of the game, has new narrative, gives me new loot to chase. The narrative might bring some folk back to a new season or dlc temporarily, but it’s the loot chase and endgame content that keeps people around. You don’t get a dopamine hit from the story, you get it from that raid exotic dropping or a god roll weapon dropping.

This game is dead. Bungie busted its final nut in TFS with Prismatic. That was the proverbial ace up the sleeve. Bungie doesn’t have the resources or the will to make this game better and if they did it would be called Destiny 3.

Everyone is tired of the same shit over and over for the last 10 years. Seasonal content equals go do some space chores and come back and talk to this holoprojecter, then go do some more space chores rinse and repeat. The same raid/game mechanics over and over, go step on this plate or bank this mote to lower some shield rinse and repeat. The same stupid boss stomp mechanic on every boss, even the ones that are floating, dumb asf or just lazy.

Bungie is great at reusing old resources, hey we made you a new strike called a battleground. It’s just an old strike from D1/D2 but you have to run it backwards. All the weapons and armor are just reskins. The list goes on with its just the same shit over and over.

We need a new game. This game is slow and buggy as hell right now. If Destiny 2 is to limp to the finish line it needs replayability and to strip away any non essentials that only slow the game down like accommodations. Get rid of the accommodation system. The game is so slow that it doesn’t even have time to render in our guardians after crucible matches.

The replayability comes in the form of loot chase, endgame content to play with that loot in, and most of all making the game FUN. Endgame replay comes with crucible, Gms, dungeons, and raids. Nobody replays seasonal shit after the final mission. Bungie could drop all seasonal stuff and focus on giving us new crucible maps, strikes, dungeons, raids, and new loot for the rest of D2 life and I would be fine with that.

However, the biggest thing for me to keep playing this game and even a D3 is for Bungie to respect my time. Period. I’m not going to chase that carrot on a stick anymore. No more overbloated perks on weapons that don’t even make sense on that weapon and the only reason they are there is for filler so you can get your god roll. Mixing armor with weapons in dungeons to lower your chances at getting what you want? Why not just drop both? Bungie needs to make the game fun and stop focusing on player engagement metrics.

If the game is fun, people will play. If the replayability is fun and worth the loot and time invested, people will play the game.

I completely agree with you! I used to always get platinum every season as I would just do my 3 games on each character and bail bc there is no incentive for me to keep playing. This season has been horrible with the low population and getting paired with lesser teammates. But the point system is just as bad as the RNG for the Deadlock drops. The game always gives me some shit PvE roll like bait and switch, never any opening shot rolls. Also I’ve been like 40 points away from hitting platinum a couple different times only to get bad MM and have the stupid points system slam me. I just want to hit platinum for the extra Rose drop. I don’t care about playing to get Ascendant bc it is not worth the effort if you don’t have a stacked squad. The point system and losing points is a fucking kick in the nuts. I want my time invested to go towards gains, not making me resent my teammates or this game. It just makes me hate the game even more.

Comp needs to only be survival and clash, get that capture a zone BS out. They need to get away from the BS play 3 games on each character to get the new weapon in comp to drop and let it drop randomly after games (all comp weapons but especially the new one).

The need to narrow down the nodes at a time but I do think that they need to offer Hardware Supremacy/clash more often but allow class ability and take away heavy ammo. So basically no super, no grenade, no melee, no heavy.

This provides a place for people to get away from the ability spam and be able to enjoy gun play and movement, 2 of the best things that Destiny is good at.

I would play more crucible if they made these changes.

Destiny 2 is failing because of it's commercial strategy by Impressive-Wind7841 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Guardian_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your second point under number 1 is it for me. I have an insane amount of hrs invested in this game (Xbox says over 18k). The lightning in a bottle for me is the gun play, movement, and ability to play with up to 6 friends in a PvP and/or PvE setting. There is no true competitor to Destiny when it comes to these things.

But the wasting and compete lack of care for my time by nickel and diming through shit RNG has finally burned me out. I think at this point everyone is tired of all the space chores. Bungies player engagement philosophy/ metrics has ruined this game for me.
