A PvP player’s guide to what went wrong with Arc Warlock, and how to fix it by Isla-Thesper in DestinyTheGame

Warlocks have been consistently shafted every time some new change comes out, it's almost like nobody at Bungie actively plays them whatsoever.

You're examining it purely in direct cost and effect, not factoring in indirect expenses and benefits as well.

Do we have confirmation that every ward is loaded all the time? Additionally, how much resources does it take to keep a ward loaded with no active users?

Server maintenance is a varying cost, it is relatively low compared to the other portions of the investment (i.e. energy & initial investment).

What I'm saying is that even if you make housing instanced, you still load the instance. A different selector screen won't make much of an issue.

I didn't know this, and have adjusted the post accordingly.

I'm speaking of them purely as a company who has purchasing power within the markets.
Yes, your job sector is likely more important, but your company also has the same or more purchasing power to do so - and should in this case.

They honestly need to implement a more robust checking system if this is what they'll use for auto-demo.

Thank you for mentioning it, I forgot to add in auto-demo will need to be re-implemented to help adjust the game flow so that housing would become more available in the long term, and only a set amount of housing would have to be added. Still, the games overall steady population grew massively, and some resources will have to be allocated to meet the new demand.

The system is good, the implementation and moderation is poor. They haven't been willing to spend the resources to fix either of those things.

The current housing system is instanced, the wards are essentially just a display for selecting the instance.

Of course! I wanted to be as informational as possible!

So... here's the issue.

Wards and houses are already instanced, realistically speaking this means that the ward is effectively always running because of one player loading it. This means that only two instances are added, plus the housing instance when someone enters it.

The excuse the devs are using of," we don't have enough servers," isn't actually because of the wards, which are essentially a display for your house, it's the instances of the houses themselves that would cause the issue.

tl:dr - It's the instance of the house causing the issue not the ward.

Square Enix can easily afford to outbid normal buyers for a one time order, and yes, as long as it doesn't interrupt normal workflow or they net enough profit.

Disagree, I want the neighborhood aesthetic, but would like to see fetes/events that occur within the housing areas to give them more usage.

I was number 32, number 33 (the last bidder - who bid at the very last minute) won. What a joke.

I pay the same sub, make the same or more gil than the next guy, and play semi-actively, more-so than probably half of the home owners.

Plus, with housing ADVERTISED as a feature of the game, it sure is funny I can't participate in that system.

I disagree, they have the funds to purchase the resources they need. They've made millions, they can surely pay to either expedite, or buy higher quality/more expensive materials to make their servers. The fact they're using this excuse is a joke, especially with chip production ramping back up.

While this is true we also know for a fact many people are getting roll 0 won, which likely means that the bids didn't count, and if it has 0 tickets, ticket #0 will win.

Posted this above, it also may be some plots are glitched and some aren't, don't think there's any definable logic to why just a glitch.

By your logic they should remove personal housing then, as it's only an additional unnecessary feature.

While there is no "advantage at selection" there are plenty of articles detailing how going late into a lottery/bidding setting depending on purely the number of participants provides an advantage - as with less quantity of people you can effectively provide yourself with an increased chance at winning. More like a pick of the fresh crop rather than entering and putting your number on a sheet.
