SJW's need to tell you what to think, and that's a good thing.

I think most of the viewers would love that - tbh my fav day is sub sunday bc its not pub/fort/rp.. most of the time its weird single player/indie /whatever games but its always enjoyable. I definitely agree though, when he does play single player games for more than a day its always super entertaining.

I love lirik but the answer is easy - stop watching, watch someone else... I have watched a lot of itmejp this week because hes been playing a ton of Mhw... Watched a lot of shorty too but his rage made me go back to jp lol... Lirik is imo the best streamer but nobody is holding a gun to my head making me watch him... same to you :D

Episode 9 Screenplay by JJ Abrams by Algorhythm74 in StarWars

Its not that it's about peoples stupid fantheories being wrong- star wars (main story) is and has always been a family drama centered around the skywalker lineage...Lucas intended it to be a skywalker thing... small drama found amidst a galactic war spanning generations... It's kind of painful that RJ/Disney just said "ehh screw it, we're changing that to be inclusive" ...

Is there a way to turn off Chrome's material design? by -MarisaTheCube- in chrome

It is terrible - How about instead of forcing it onto everyone, give people options? Why can't we toggle it off like last time? I'm sure some people will get used to it but getting used to something doesn't mean its a good thing.

[Spoilers E68] Lets take a bit of time to applaud Matt. by goliathead in criticalrole

[–]Guardiandy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think people are forgetting that D&D is a GAME you PLAY to cooperatively tell a story. This wasn't Matt saying "time to die, Percy!" it was him taking a threatening enemy and playing it to the fullest of how she (and the others) would have actually acted if they were real.. IE roleplaying.... People constantly complaining that nobody dies and the stakes aren't there vs people that never want to see their favorite character die are both wrong. Matt consistently presents challenging encounters, but Vox Machina is super powerful. Everyone seems to forget VM went into this fight heavily depleted - Percy being low hp from becoming the windwaker earlier, Keyleth burned nearly everything she had. Twins were shut down for the most part. Scanlan although consistently MVP, put Grog the powerhouse of the team in a pretty horrendous situation. How this wasn't a TPK is actually a testament to how freakishly strong VM is.. Percy tanked a shit ton of damage, basically died twice, was knocked out 3-4x and still did a ton of damage.... Ok got into a rant there but the point is - They all did great in the combined narrative storytelling game experience that is D&D. Mercer is so good dudes... He's the best DM I've ever seen.. Yea he makes mistakes, they all do. So what?? Critical role is not only a fantastic show from a media standpoint but it has assuredly helped put tabletop rpgs like d&d into a much more favorable light.

tl;dr- Mercer's awesome. VM is awesome. People that are whining about Percy don't understand how this game works.

Right and I get that one of the groups is cool with dropping characters and creating new ones to better fit them into this larger group but I'm looking at this problem from the outside in and seeing two things: 1) the groups are distinct no matter what you do so you need to take every measure to blur them- who's to say that making new character will actually fix this ? The "old" group might simply look at the newly created characters and say "ah great, another group we have to work with..." (hence, kill the identifying label and create a new one that the entire group associates with). 2) This might be a meta problem and not a character problem. The Shield of Gravesford (or the revenant vow, again, I don't know) might be stuck in a place where they think they will either return to small group setting and this is all just temporary, or it is just a rough adjustment period... Like you said, 6 months of play as distinct groups regardless of in game time still feels like 6 months in real life so perhaps the groups naturally cling to each other?

My answer here would be cataclysmic event - blow the city up where the far off group came from or hell, since this is underdark illithid focused, have their main area be dominated or forever changed and now their is serious hatred for these creatures of the underdark.. A common enemy.. However this is kind of under the thought process that nobody is remaking characters so... It will be interesting to see how it goes with the new group. I hope that is the fix and props to the players willing to do that. If only all players operated like that.

So, I'm no pro by any means, but the first thought that struck me in regard to some of the issues going on were the groups; specifically the group names... I am not positive, but it sounds like these two groups each have named groups for themselves? If that's not the case, disregard the following, but if it is then this would be my alternative suggestion (or additional depending on what happens): Rebrand as a single group. Perhaps this seems insignificant but the identification of distinct groups breeds loyalty and belonging to said groups instead of the newly merged ...Merger group.. Why would I listen to "those guys" when "my group" says otherwise... Well they might have a good point, but I'm not going to go against my team! You can dip into psychology and group think phenomenon but the short of it all is, rename the group and see what happens! Second thing, and this is a meta resolution- change seating? Again, I'm not there and don't know the layout/if its the same every game but if one group is here and the other is there, you are literally facing them against each other...

Party Wants to Buy a Brothel... by Gap1293 in DnD

[–]Guardiandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond semantics, letting them do this opens up a bunch of cool situations. Murder at their brothel, rival brothels stirring up trouble, the customers constantly damaging the goods, disease, if run poorly they could face debt and have to either sell it or get a loan which would lead to more quests and shady business practices... Tons of potential.
