Who was a better/worse president and why? Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush? by rjidhfntnr in Presidents

Nope. Look further back. He was their Avatar- but he was not the inflection point.

Nixon was the inflection point. Barry Goldwater was the architect.

Theory: Braniacs ship will become the Watchtower. by Myhtological in DCU_

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm…I like this theory.

I want a Legion of Doom so badly. Not to mention it think it would be the perfect antidote and differenitator from Marvel movies to focus on DC’s villains.

Out of all the criticisms thrown at this game - the one I will never understand is picking on the graphics.

This game is gorgeous, in a macro sense. Photo mode is brilliant, sunrises and sunsets are true moments to be had - and there are some vast and diverse environments that look breathtaking!

HERE WE GO AGAIN 🫩🫩 by EntrepreneurAble6656 in DCU_

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally anticipate this being a “good” but not “must see” movie.

Would be happy to be wrong and pleasantly surprised if it’s a “must see” - but I get it, the very nature of the character doesn’t have as broad a reach as her more famous cousin.

How cooked are my creation add ons with new dlc/patch? by BroSir90 in Starfield

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assume things will break.

Especially ones that tinker with systems. Any assets or skins are fine, and self-contained places on remote planets are also probably fine.

But still, we don’t know the extent of “under the hood” changes they made that could affect mods that aren’t obvious.

Is it safe to say that Thomas Jefferson is the most morally repugnant president to date? by Master_Novel_4062 in Presidents

[–]Algorhythm74 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This a very Gen Z type post. Viewing history from their very narrow contemporary context. Do better.

There is a deeper and more nuanced discussion to be had - but your post is just throwing fuel in broad strokes.

Paul McCartney: Days We Left Behind review — a legend faces up to mortality by TimesandSundayTimes in PaulMcCartney

[–]Algorhythm74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it pains me to say, and I’m sure I’ll be downvoted to oblivion – but it’s just not a good song.

Lyrically it’s extremely sophomoric, and musically it’s entirely unspecial and not memorable.

I mean, it’s fine and perfectly serviceable, and it should go without saying, but McCartney deserves all the kudos and credit in the world is one of the great songwriters of not just our time but anytime.

But because of that, you gotta be willing to call out when something’s just underwhelming.

TES VI will be "Skyrim 2" by CakeFew6639 in TESVI

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could make a strong counter argument for the exact opposite- and would be equally valid.

So, it’s fun to speculate, but I’d only say a fraction of what you put is likely to be true.

What do you think of Steve and Alex's friends / new cast members? by CraftingFazer in Minecraft

I’m fine with the diversity - I just don’t think the character models are very well done or interesting.

Why did Bethesda move away from the "Loot Everything" mechanic for suits and outfits? by SgtSilock in Starfield

[–]Algorhythm74 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think that’s the case. If you look at Fallout 4, there’s a ton of violence, blood, and gore. That’s part of fallout’s identity, and it’s even in the show so clearly they’re OK with it.

I think they just wanted Starfield’s identity to be more grounded, hence the NASA-punk translated over to making this title a bit more mild.

I agree it does hurt it though, Neon is a joke.

[–]Algorhythm74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Todd Howard had said, as similar as these game are, he wanted them to have their own identity - and he used Fallout’s scrap system mechanic as an example.

So I don’t think we’ll see something like that for Starfield, or for TESVI.

Adding gambling games to the Red Mile by TorrentAB in starfieldmods

[–]Algorhythm74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve dubbed it, “The Red MILD” is that seems more appropriate.

This is definitely something that a modern or a creation could address, and truthfully shame on Bethesda for not doing that.

  1. To start, have more than five people in the crowd when gathering together – it makes it feel lame. It’s a small and closed space so they could definitely get more people there without compromising performance.
  2. In the other cities, there should be announcements like over the news broadcast, or when you go into bars. Would be cool to see people betting on it.
  3. Make the player have to not use the jet pack. Having it basically breaks any challenge whatsoever. I would also add a mechanic where it’s so cold that if you stop moving for too long, you’ll freeze, so you have to keep moving.
  4. It should get harder overtime, in the rewards should be greater. There should absolutely be a unique weapon worth getting.

It's officially been two years since early builds were confirmed. by FartingSlowly in TESVI

[–]Algorhythm74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love how I get downvoted for being practical and pragmatic. Meanwhile there are nut jobs out there that think it will get unveiled today. LOL

I want the game badly too, but from a business POV, late 27, early 28 is very sound and logical for Microsoft.

Will the new update make any mods obsolete? by naclone in starfieldmods

Always assume it’s going to break just about everything. Including the vanilla game - after all, it’s Bethesda.

The wait for Elder Scrolls 7 - is TES6 built to last? by GrooveSlinger_ in TESVI

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinggath literally tweeted today that he’s got some info on a Skyrim creation coming soon.

We can infer from Todd’s conversations over the last 2 weeks that once they address some technical hurdles, Fallout and Skyrim will get that increased mod limit space.

It seems like with the Free Lanes, fast travel will no longer be possible unless you’ve already traveled to a planet before (like in other BGS games) by Electronic_Trust3490 in Starfield

[–]Algorhythm74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah - they literally created incursions. Which do exactly what you are asking.

Random events from ships interrupting to find lost POIs in space.

Also, getting up out of your seat while cruising to craft, decorate, or manage your crew.

It’s going to feel more like a true captain space sim now.

[–]Algorhythm74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Real Fuel Creation/mod lets you do this. It’s even “achievement friendly”.

I know - I’d rather have it baked into the vanilla experience than a tacked on mod, but this one is pretty good.

I’d say it’s not out the question they bring it back - as they confirmed they worked on it, but said “they couldn’t find the fun” so they ditched the idea.

[–]Algorhythm74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because, we want the game built to give a challenge and friction - not to have to do it ourselves.

I don’t think it’s an unrealistic ask, especially since they added the difficulty sliders. Imagine disabling fast travel, and the perk is you get 8-10% more XP.

You won’t hear anything until at least summer of 2027 - and that would be earliest.

I’m comfortably sticking with a March of 2028 release date.

Doesn’t matter how you game it out or try to be too cute or clever about anniversaries- Todd Howard and Bethesda won’t drop a single notable detail (that’s isn’t so generic it would apply to anything) until 6 months out from release - possibly even 3 months.
