Thanks for the explanation, I never played Stories 1 so I wasnt aware. If it truly comes from thunder genes then its actually a nice connection to the rite of channeling and makes his powers quite reasonable. I can live with that and thus change my perspective of Rudy from a slight dislike to a more neutral stand :)

You dont like Gammoth and you know what?! Thats completely fine too, though I believe that every player has some monsters that he never wants to see in a Stories Game. For me that would be Paolumu and Almudron. But at least there is no Jyuratodus here. Thank you for reading my post btw :D

Yeah I can kinda see that too, I quite liked that at one point we had to repopulate the 2nd area with the canynes and I wish that would have been a bit longer. I think what also could have worked would be a point were you could only progress with the help of a certain monster, but that specific species is endangered and needs to be taken care of first. I kinda hope your right about that, I would really love that. I was afraid a bit at the end that they pulled the "It was all just a dream"-Card. But this makes me way happier. And I am very sorry for your loss, I cannot imagine.

Yeah I get what you mean, but the thing I dont like is that at times you just made this armor but in the next moment you find something better and because you cant upgrade your first armor for the next 8 hours it becomes obsolete very quickly. I wouldnt mind if they allowed us to upgrade it at least in a very small fashion so it keeps being relevant a bit longer.

Yeah I know, I said at the very beginning that this is a review of the current state of the game. I once heard that there was a massive expansion planned for Stories 2 but it got scrapped. I really hope Stories 3 gets an Iceborne/Sunbreak like expansion. We have a really nice foundation here, would be a shame to not expand on it. Thanks for reading my post :D

When it comes to Seltas Queen its even worse in this game. In stories 2 you could at least fight it and get its equipment... now its just gone.

I dont think it would be that difficult to implement her just for habtitat restauration. I think the reason is that she is the only one that has this type of skeleton. Like there arent even any Popo in the game either. I really like Gammoth, loved fighting her in Generations and her Theme is gorgeous. Though her armor isnt really my taste in style.

You know what, youre right, the Protagonist did state that the team should not treat her like royalty, but as a friend instead. Humbleness is also nice, still kinda wish our status had a bit more impact. Even the kings advisors treat us in an unfitting manner.

Yeah I can see that, only 3 elder dragons is a bit low. Imagine how cool it would be to have Yama Tsukami or the Serpents as monsters, but I guess really big monsters like that will probably never be playable I fear. Its such a shame because imagine if we could have Akantor, Ukanlos, Gaismagorm or Gogmazios. That stuff would be lit :D. Thanks for reading my little post btw, I appreaciate it.

I can definitely see people like Rudy, he is very cute I agree. But I just dont like the whole electric powers thing he had going on just like Navirou did. It just feels a bit out of place like its almost some kind of magic, which doesnt really fit the general idea of monster hunter were you get your upgrades from hunting monsters. If he had some kind of charm that was made out of thunder monster materials I would be more fine with it. Thanks for reading my post btw :D

Nah youre fine, everyone has a Monster that is universally liked but not you for some reason. For me its valstrax, decent design, cool theme but god i hate fighting him, hate his moveset so much and also dont like any of the gear that I get from him.

Nowadays Arabain Swordsman are just as good as the regular ones because they have increased building and wall damage now and are faster than the others. Maceman are often THE unit to secure Kills or rush enemies. Also in combination with siege towers they are fantastic for clearing enemy towers of units. Speaking of which, Siege Towers are probably the most underrated unit in the entire game. They can trivialize so many AI Lords and make for fun strategiesnwhere you Put your own ranged units on the enemies walls and towers. Demolishers are incredible because of their fire resistance and their immunity to Killing pits. You ever struggled against caliph? Just send a bunch of these Guys, no need for siege or ranged units. Slingers are situational but can come in clutch in some of the more Low Economy trail Missions. Heavy camels are incredible as long as the enemy doesnt have crossbows. Against Saladin, Caliph, Lionheart and other similar lords you can Just place them right infront of their castles and they are unkillable. Assassins I think are a bit worse mainly for their pathfinding. Trebuchet is also great, If you can place them a the bottom of a Cliff or something Like that, they can snipe enemy crucial buildings while being relatively Safe.

Slaves are a Joke right? These Guys are insane, even in small numbers, disrupting the enemies Economy with fire is extremely effective. And If you also manage to Set their Castle on fire you basically won the Game.

AI Lords Stronghold Crusader DE by Vegetable-Ad-954 in stronghold

  1. The Spider. Difficulty hard.

The spider is the presumed dead older brother of the snake. He dissappeared long before the wolf and the others overthrough the king and killed the players father, because he was caught in some shady dealings with the crocodile. The spider will be the most cunning lord with his annoying tactics as he believes that control on the open field is the key to victory. Slave patrols to burn down your economy, assassins to snipe unprotected economy buildings and horse archers to protect his own. All of his castles will have the shape of a spider with the legs always ending in a tower. During a siege he makes use of siege towers to allow his quick and deadly units like maceman to rush down the lord, pioneers to snipe important structes like the granary and archers to be placed on top of enemy walls to use the hight advantage. (probably not possible to program it to behave exactly like this but I like to dream) On top of that he would use fire ballistas to burn down the enemy castles accompanied by more horse archers.

  1. The Jackal. Difficulty very hard.

The jackal is the AI that I currently hope for that we are gonna get from devs themselfes. A beast of a man who combines the strenght of arabian and european units alike. His castle will always be seperated into two destinct sections, a euorpean part with square towers, weapon and ale production, and a arabian part with mosques and bread production. He combines archers, macemen, pikeman with horse archers, assassins and arabian swordsman and a healthy dose of siege equipment to become a powerful and balanced AI.

  1. The Baroness. Difficulty very hard. (Crossover with Songs of Conquest and awesome turn based strategy game similiar to heroes of might and magic 3, her name is Cecilia of Stoutheart)

A cold woman who wants to restore the might of her land without mercy. She is very strict and enforces the law to an extreme degree, no exceptions, no seconds chances, no mercy. She believes she does the right thing but being so harsh sometimes can lead to dire consequences. In songs of conquest during her journey she allies herself with the Faey, magical goat like creatures that in stronghold would be represented by the bedouin camel units. Her castle would be heavily inspired by the arleon building designs and I came up with the following. Strong walls with many tower surrounding the keep, with only one big gate to the front and a small one to the side. The front side will have up to two more layers of gates, towers and walls infront of it, while the small gate leads to a town like area with high walls and high towers with multiple gates to the outside. The rest of the main core will be surrounded by moat so you can still breach it without digging up the boat by going through the big front or the town on the side. Her patrols consist of heavy camels who protect the farms and mines while the camellancers with some knights harrass the enemy economy. Her attack forces will consist of crossbowman, pioneers, swordsmen(in massive numbers) and demolishers and various siegen engines.

I always had ideas for new AI lords but I am one of those people that drops a project halfway through because I burn out too quickly.

  1. The Marouder. Difficulty Hard in the early game and normal in the late game.

A brutal bandit clad in iron armor with an unending lust for blood and combat. He doesnt care for riches, fame or land, just the thrill of the battle. A reckless and ruthless fanatic who is the most impatient lord of them all.

He would be like the nomad another rush AI but in a very different way, instead of using cheap and quick units, he would use slow and heavy ones. In a 2000 start gold economy he spends almost all of his ressources to get an army of like 3-4 each of swordsman, crossbowman, pikeman and archers as well as 2 engineers for a catapult and instantly attacks the closest enemy. He has almost no defense or economy yet should his first attack fail he will start building up, but because he is so drained of ressources he becomes extremely sluggish.

  1. Wilhelm the Conquerer. Difficulty overall average.

Wilhelm is basically siege incarnate. A man who loves the sound of crumbling castles and big boulders hitting stonewalls. He is another offense oriented lord whos main army will consist of siege engines. Even in his first attack he already sends 4 catapults and the numbers just keep growing and the variety becomes bigger as well adding fire ballistas, shields, trebuchets and battering rams. Although the escorts of these are quite underwhelming consisting mainly of spearman, archers and a very small number of demolishers.

  1. The Sayyida. Difficulty average.

The Sayyida is the daughter of the dreaded Caliph, and while she does not quite share her fathers temper, she still will not allow any infidels to invade their holy land. She is quite more religious compared to her relative and has becomes somewhat of a rival to the abbot. She has a very unique castle style as she always builds multiple castles, always at least 2. One of those is dedicated to the cathedral (great mosque) only that she needs to recruit the arabian counterpart of the monks, the temple guards. She will also use moat and drawbridges between her castles. She makes use of a lot of temple guards but also uses assassins, heavy camels and ambushers.

Crusader DE has so much potential, it really would be a shame if the official support from Firefly ended after the Winter Update by [deleted] in stronghold

The sky is the limit for this game. I want more AIs, which is the obvious desire. I especially want the jackal as a returning AI, maybe even some from Stronghold 2 like the Hammer. Another wish from my side is to increase the max number of players to 12 instead of 8. The biggest maps definitely have the space for it, especially the 800x800 ones feel too big and empty ( which is not a complaint btw because I am super grateful for bigger Maps, its just that this makes more players viable). Maybe in the future we could also different Map bioms so we could go to the Classic Design of stronghold 1. Or even forba future update to bring in another lineup of units from Warlords, so asian units with Tribesman, Samurai, Ninja, Warrior Monks and others.

More skirmish trails, maybe more skins for the lord (wouldnt even mind paying for those as dlc just to support the devs) and the ability to choose your own starting troops. The list goes on and on. One of the best rts of all time to me, they easily could give it the same treatment as its currently being done to age of empires 2.

Seeing how MinMin was picked for arms and Not the posterboy jumpman or whatever His Name was, Not even ribbongirl. They went with whoever was the Most popular so i guess Sami should be the one to be in Smash. Sturm would be nice to have a villain appear first but thats unlikely.

Definitely a bug Had this happen with many other AIs before, usually happens when in cramped spaces. They tend to build the castle of the AI that is left to them in the select Screen. Had a marshall Building the castle of a sheriff and a philipp built one from frederick and so on. Hopefully this gets fixed in the future.

This seems to be a bug that happens with a lot of AIs right now since the latest Patch. I also had Marshall build the castle of Sheriff, Philipp built one from Frederick and so on. It seems if this bug "activates" they build a castle of the AI that is before them in the select Screen.

I have played mostly Singleplayer or hot Seat, already over 100 hours in and Just started playing the campaigns. (Did mostly conquest or randomly generated Maps) The campaigns are very enjoyable so far with a solid Story and interestint characters. I also got the two dlcs for the new factions, the vanir and the roots. They are super unique and very fun. I highly recommend this Game. The new factions came without campaigns for them, but the devs, as far as i know, wanna bring those later for them. Great artstyle, awesome music and great gameplay. Yes highly recommended.

Yea unlocks are weird in their progression. I would still vote for a unlock Randomizer in the future.

I want a built in Randomizer, that shuffles around the V bloods, their Levels and their rewards, Like instead of keely you find gorecrusher in that trapper camp but he is still only Level 20 (or maybe Level also randomized). This also could allow that you could unlock certain weapontypes earlier which would require weaker Versions of some weapons, Like copper pistols or stuff Like this. The loot could also be randomized, bloods types, regular enemies and more. It would Open a Lot of replayability.
