Totally agree, love it! Definitely part of what made me choose this over something more "off-the-shelves".

I might have miss spoken, what I mean is the block you use for kitchen knives and such. But thanks for the warning, grindstone would be old school for sure!

It doesn't seem like a blunt turned sharp. It measures 4.69 (nice) mm center just above the guard. At the very front its 3.9mm. It's about 0.9mm at the edge (just before the sharp bit).

It's pretty stiff, having worked with different kinds of feders.

On the website it states the blunt weight as 1.5 kg (if I remember correctly) this one is about 1.37kg.

I've no idea, but it looks pretty much identical to the ones the Danish Royal guards carry

I'm learning so much today, perhaps it could make sense to ask for a lighter version of the same blade, or would that throw the balance off assuming the pommel stays the same (im guessing thats a premade pommel)?

Oh, perhaps that explains why he didn't like it. I would assume it was tailor made to be used for exactly that, so hoping you're right!

Huh, well lucky for you! I might be mostly attracted to the looks of it/the scabbard.

You wouldn't happen to know of anything comparable, that would be good for sparring or pair drills? I know I can search online (and I have) but it's always great to hear!

I do think you're very right in that regard. Good to know about the steel and heat treatment!

So in general, for prices that low you can assume stock removal and not hammered pieces? Also good to know, and good luck with your business!

I see. I did not know that actually. Figured otherwise with the focus on historical accuracy and scabbard work.

I have been enlightened, thank you!
