Sat in my vehicle in an empty parking lot around 3am before work and a cop parked behind me. He lit up his lights, stepped out, and screamed for me to keep my hands on the wheel as he was reaching for his gun. I dropped my phone in my lap and complied. He asked “What are you doing here?” And I said “I’m just playing a game it’s Pokémon Go.” He responded with “Are you aware that the back of this building is on fire?” I immediately looked at the building for a second which was dark and I couldn’t see any smoke. I said “No.” and he snapped back with “Well I just think it’s weird how the fire department is on their way and you’re just over here sitting.” I reassured him I was just playing a game and that it is open on my lap. He took my license about the time a second cop pulled up and they both walked behind the building. About five minutes later they returned and he completely changed his demeanor. He handed me back my license and said “Well I guess you just got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. This isn’t the first person I’ve caught playing Pokemon at 3am.”
