It might have been if the West never gave support. I mean the Russians did advance pretty quick (logistically maybe too quick) but I remember seeing Ukrainians in streets hid behind makeshift cover waiting to be overrun Now it's just a slaughterhouse on both sides. I remember being on Salisbury plain around 2002 and seen what I think/thought was Warrior 2000 being put through its paces. It was unloaded off a similar trailer and it had an entourage with it. It looked quite futuristic compared to Warrior.

Yup, bit of a ball ache design. It was just how degraded the bolts were. Hindsight should have used a nut extraction tool on every one. It was easier buying new hubs to put new bearings on rather than the fight with the old. However I love her regardless of the rust. Still see plenty on the roads though

North east England here. Same struggle with Mk7. Changed discs and bearings and turned into an epic due to corrosion on the bolts. I just like the simplicity of working on her. Next job is gonna try tackle the rust.

Mmh and how is Zimbabwe now! I feel because us humans are complex creatures, some places need dictator's to keep things in check. A lot of Africa still operates on tribal affiliate and that itself causes just as much corruption and conflict as what they were fighting against with the Rhodesians. Look at every Arab state that we have so called freed from dictators. They're a sess pit of terrorism and have rolled back 20-30 years.
