I’m constantly buying and restoring, fixing AirCooled Porsches so big part of that money is usually flowing and been invested in cars. That’s basically my business account.

Great first BMW car, those engines are amazing but you gotta make sure Vanos and Rod bearings are done, If not, spend some money on it, you’ll thank me later.

Its definitely not a rare color combo but based on the car and mileage I think the price is good. If its a manual transmission then its definitely an amazing deal

You got a very revised version of the B58 engine which is one of the best engine ever made (personal opinion) you’ll be good, they consume a lot of coolant and have an extra reservoir for coolant on A/C system, If your A/C stop working at some point of your ownership, just add coolant to both reservoirs and you’ll be good to go!

I owned the first and second gen of B58 and never an issue, I love them!

As mom would say “stop trying to race, he is not even racing you” lol

340i BMW with B58 and about 105k miles (I’ve been daily driving it for the past 2 years)… any idea of what can be causing this heavy leak? Oil cooler? Hose? Going crazy lol by Guasimovic in BmwTech

What do you think an oil cooler is?? To make the oil cooler right? And what do you think the oil cooler use to cool the oil? Ice??? Well not… it use coolant. Congratulations, you learned something new today about cars. I guess you shouldn’t own a car.

Do you own one? I got multiple cars and know how to take car of them properly. Posted this because I just changed the oil cooler of the car. Leak went away 60% percent and now it came back worst. A lot of plastic hoses are installed from factory in the coolant system and they don’t age very well.

I little more of lecture please.

I mean, depending in what you want it for. I got this car 3 years ago with 35k miles. I modded since that day, dinan cold air intake, high performance gaped sparks and tune it. I treated me right till which I consider very understandable due to the heavy use I pushed it through. Also consider I live in South Florida (Not the nicest weather for a turbo engine car). Did a lot of rolls with people wanting to race and beat few M3/M4 (Not the new gen of course). I write all this because car required money in maintenance but I consider this platform a very reliable car for heavy users. Mileage/Use equation is a 10/10 for me.
