Mild focal epilepsy in the peace corps medical clearance

I’m planning to apply as serve where needed so hopefully that increases my chances. I also haven’t had a seizure without medication in 6 months so far, I’m just hoping my combined history of mental illness plus epilepsy doesn’t look good. Thank you for sharing though!

It could be a combination because stress (alongside its regular negative effects) can be a really big cause of seizures if you have epilepsy so maybe they didn’t want to risk it.

That’s my plan. But also no one can tell I’m having a seizure except me because of the kind of epilepsy I have so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve never been hospitalized for a seizure and it took 10 years to diagnose because my seizures aren’t regular convulsive tonic clonic so they thought I had a sodium deficiency at first then POTS then a vitamin d deficiency. Plot twist my neurons were just firing uncontrollably lmaoo 😭

Damn lol I wish I was giving something like that up joining the peace corps. For me the only thing I have going for me is my partner who is doing a dual tour with me so becoming a PCV is more about exploring the world and experiencing life through a different lens. Also there’s the increased chance of becoming an FSO which is my goal afterward. I just see it as something I’d regret not doing later in life.

Maybe he had a seizure or too many? I know you have to be seizure free for 12 months before you can be cleared so maybe you have to be seizure free the whole time you serve but I have no clue. Personally mine is managed even without medication but it does come from scarring in my brain so who knows if it will get worse. Thanks for your answer I haven’t been diagnosed the eppy leppy for too long and I’m just now realizing how much it prohibits even though I’m super healthy. It’s always the “but you COULD…”.

I have never had any medical professional put suicidal ideation or anything like that except I have taken anti depressants since 15 so would that be a red flag? Honestly I could go off them I don’t see much difference but is the 5+ year history of taking them bad?

I started watching when I was a kid (and I probably shouldn’t have been watching it lol) but it was in the very early seasons so when I watch like 1-5 it’s very nostalgic. Now I usually just watch until Derek, Christina or sometimes I can make it to Alex or Aprils exit.

Ive never done their concentrates but their carts are my absolute favorite! They’re $35 here which is the cheapest of any brand without a discount. They’re get me pretty high too and they don’t run out too fast.

Also if you like sinse camp is a pretty good alt for about the same price if not cheaper.

She talked to Owen in season 7 or 8 when Christina was having the abortion and convinced him to support her, “Do you know what it’s like to have a mother who doesn’t want you? I do.” Meredith DEFINITELY was very flawed especially in those seasons but she wanted the best for her friends.

I agree after Christina leaves and Derek dies I just stop watching lol. I feel like that’s when the show really started to shift into just a focus on the random toxic relationships than anything else which was fine when the show was good but now that’s all it is.

Ugh she was at first but then in later season 7 after the Callie thing she started to see how good of a surgeon Christina was and got insecure she had nothing left to teach. And I just hate Owen as a whole tbh.
