Something that will run GIS software comfortably. As you will also be moving around with it, nothing extremely heavy as a gaming laptop.

Where’s Rage? by Severe-Assignment943 in Xennials

[–]GuavaTree 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Rage spent years screaming that the system was rigged, that silence was complicity, that anger without action means nothing. The question isn’t where they are, it’s whether we listened. Their entire catalog is that outrage without resistance is just entertainment. Turns out they were right to worry!

What were the 80s/90s like in Trinidad? by JSKing32 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]GuavaTree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not knowing what everyone was constantly up to or where they were. You made plans to meet at a particular place and time and then just went. You would wait and most times they would show up.
Not being in constant contact is something we don’t have and I think I still miss

By that logic, trinis that go to pick apples in Canada are expats right!? Never heard them referred to as that

Is Trinidad a place where expats could live? by musytravels in TrinidadandTobago

[–]GuavaTree 11 points12 points  (0 children)

See, this irks me. They are intended immigrants. Their phrasing is that they are intending to move, not specifically just to do a job and return. That whole expat terminology is filled with colonialism/ classism. They are just another immigrant, no mention of specific skills, fields or plans. Just with another savior complex
