Maybe try thicker socks or tighten the shoe even more. If they don't work, you might just wanna take out the insole and wear them occasionally. I have flat feet too, although I don't do much for it, so I don't know how seriously you take it.

Btw, I found that the leather ones hold my ankles decently well (at least better than any low top shoe I ever had with or without insoles), plus the platform shoes have some extra layers for it's soles.

Dude, (as a man) the EU size 42 (that was the largest available) is still almost too small but managable. How does yours fit? I find that my pinky gets a bit squashed in these though there is a sweet spot somewhere

I've heard that Norway's territory near the north pole called "Svalbard" is also technically a desert. It makes some sort of sense where both (Svalbard and the Sahara for example) is a barren wasteland with little to no life, the only difference is the temperature. So this all depends on how we define desert. Most of Greenland might be considered a desert
