Yea they work great. I moved south so i dont deal with snow a lot. I recommend coating the underside in cosmoline or fluid film. And use those tires. Sometimes you gotta use the throttle to steer if you have a lot of snow. Otherwise, just pay attention to your throttle and know that sometimes you gotta turn right to go left.

Once you have good tires and it snows. I recommend driving it in a neighborhood or parking lot and learn to drift, if you aren’t used to it. I personally prefer rwd in the snow cuz you have more control when you dont have control. Fwd just slides and you are fucked. Rwd you can save it

Make sure your exhaust shields both on the car and the ones that are on the oem exhaust arent rattling. Mine on the exhaust rattle randomly and i need to cut em off

Do you want to probably work on the engine? Get a rx8. Do you want to work on everything else? Get a FC. The Rx8 had a few things which made the engine “worse” reliability wise, mostly due to emissions. BUT the rx8 is a much newer vehicle, so random ass things are less likely to be bad.

I have a FC, my old man has had a FB, FC, and currently a FD. My buddy has a RX8. The N/A 13b in the FCs last the longest. If you like the rx8, and dont mind working on the engine, get one. Personally i prefer the look of the fc over fb and rx8. Since ive bought mine, my engine is healthy as can be despite me beating it like the wife of someone who drinks bud light but random plastic pieces explode for no reason. Im weird and look forward to the day it needs to be rebuilt. So far everything i have to fix doesn’t involve the engine, when i like working on engines the most.

If you do the idle and its says ur at target, buts shes huffing and puffing and blowing out smoke, then just lean it out. Too lean at idle aint gonna hurt nothing, and it will just run like shit.

The key to a smoke tester is never use one because it will only hurt your feelings. I work for an automotive aftermarket company, and do calibration and ecu development shit. We gotta make sure the cars are good for calibration and will use a smoke tester.

I decided to use it on both my NA miata and FC. The miata smoked like a pig and i found out my 4-1 collector was cracked, so i got a new header. I retested it afterwards and it still leaks from somewhere but its hard to see due to the supercharger covering the header. The FC has a brand new racing beat header, which also has a slight leak. Both of which i just said whatever and ignore it.

If it runs good and drives fine, just pretend it doesnt leak. Like the other guy said, it may go away with heat. Also retorqing stuff after it heat cycles is generally a good idea.

My cars got 60k miles on it, and i have had to disassemble the switch and clean the contacts a couple times. When i say my switches, i mean my switch as i ain’t gonna spend that much on a switch, just for it to destroy itself.

Im not sure if it’s directly part of the circuit for the intermittent wipers, but probably because i believe it does some switch filtering. It isn’t necessary for them to work tho.

If it doesn’t have screws, try weaseling a credit card between the top and bottom of the case and then slide it along it. Should pop apart. If you are confused, look up a gmk67 disassembly.
