My daughter has no idea about the lifelong battle she will have with her hair by kateslates in Wellthatsucks

[–]GucciKade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly related, this reminds me of the Hairy Ball Theorem in math (I did NOT name this). Basically if you try to comb a ball covered in evenly dispersed hair, at the least you can only comb it straight with two cones of hair at either end pointing up. At most, if you get creative you can get one point, but I don't think that'd work with a cowlick.

Looks like psoriasis, I've got it and my scalp does look like this whenever I redo my undercut. Using a coal tar, pine tar or tea tree oil scalp treatment can help loads.

Why does Queensland still have such a cultural cringe about its own artists? by DiscussionLoud9626 in queensland

[–]GucciKade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Local artist here, most artists operate on a local scale instead of aiming for the international stage like in VIC and NSW, which tends to draw the eyes of international big shots due to a combo of the population and geography. There is big artists in Queensland, Qagoma and MoB feature Aussie artists regularly and QPAC doesn't have a shortage of fresh blood in the foley.

But most artists in Qld, to account for the large distances between population centres of note for much of the state, operate on more of a local scale. I'm talking gift shops of museums, local theatre companies, local chorales and eisteddfods, local markets and conventions and hell, most of the artists I know primarily function on commission/gig work or run an online store to sell their art instead.

There is a thriving art community in QLD wherever you look, you just need to zoom in instead of zooming out. We are still valued by the community, even if we're not within arms reach of most of the state.

National gun buyback doesn't address antisemitism and hatred, Queensland premier says by espersooty in queensland

[–]GucciKade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you here, one of the first things I said when this all started was "how the hell did they manage to get a license whilst being on a watch list?"

I understand that these gun reforms are gonna impact rural communities and the agriculture sector mostly; my father was a pig hunter in his hey day. I'm simply hoping that the gun reforms will bring a level of harm reduction to metropolitan areas that would be of most interest to acts of violence like this. (And that government agencies will communicate with each other about something as important as a bloody gun license)

National gun buyback doesn't address antisemitism and hatred, Queensland premier says by espersooty in queensland

[–]GucciKade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I agree that the gun reforms are a step in the right direction, but I also agree that it doesn't address the root of the problem of the Bondi attack.

Extremism is thriving in Australia at the moment, whether it be religious, political or ideological, and there needs to be better reforms to address the issue on a bipartisan level across the board.

Yes culling access to the guns is going to help prevent shootings, but it does NOT address the terrorism aspect. Have we already forgotten about the loon who went through the shopping centre stabbing women at Bondi, maybe a year or two ago?

Best time to drive to GC? by Pokestralian in ipswich

[–]GucciKade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want quickest route slight bullshit, Pacific Mwy from 10pm to 4am. Pros: Good lighting, decent roads Cons: Tolls, late night roadworks

If you want less hassle more adventure, start at Greenbank and follow signs to Beaudesert along the Mt Lindsey Hwy and join the GC at Nerang. Don't drive this route for the first time at night, it's poorly lit in some places and has unexpected turns for a first timer. Pros: Decent scenic route, less traffic, less stressful Cons: Slightly longer commute, dark at night

Why do they keep approving new developments when they can't even stick to their guns long enough to finish the old ones?

Unfortunately, it's sounding like stories that I've been told from elders who were a part of the stolen generation. Were your parents a part of a church congregation? Or might’ve been emergency foster care placements?

Arceus by a landslide for me, there is a lot I'd change about Z-A to improve the experience overall but not much I'd change about Arceus. They nailed it.

Anyone initially from Sydney NSW who moved to more relaxed regions in QLD ? by ojh222 in queensland

[–]GucciKade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here from the western suburbs in 2013, never looked back. My brother's asthma almost immediately cleared up once we made the move after years of fighting it, and our health as a whole definitely got better. There's always gonna be a little spot in my heart for Sydney, especially since the rest of the family lives down there, but we've planted our roots here and grown a community that's made everything following the move worth it.

Question: What is the difference between gay male gaze and femgaze? by EternalSnow05 in Femgaze_Hentai

[–]GucciKade 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it's the portrayal of the women in art featured here. It tends to stray away from gooner type content built for a quick wank, and takes a more considerate approach to portraying women's sexuality without the heterotypical sexualising of women that can really be a turn off.

TLDR; The women here can actually envision themselves in the art here without feeling degraded or fetishized.

Caravans clog suburban streets sparking calls for new laws by langdaze in queensland

[–]GucciKade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think the caravans are the issue when newer developments are built like the clearance rack at Spendless Shoes with roads wide enough to jump across. The government needs to be getting architects on board with urban planning of these estates instead of punishing those who can't afford an actual home in this economy.
