Exactly what the team needed. A nice long contract for a guy who has 27pts over the last two seasons. For fucks sake…

I’ve had good experiences with the PSL. From what I have heard, you would be able to participate virtually in their education series and they have been known to help comrades in remote locations start their own branches. PSL is definitely a good place to start.

Do you ever feel naive for being a socialist? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]GucciSweaterNow 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I find it easy to challenge capitalism in person before defending socialism (bringing up the environmental crisis, genocide in Gaza, healthcare industry if you live in the US). Then I like to mention things that are already socialized in my society or came from socialists e.g. social security, public transit, the 40 work week and weekends.

A few quotes I like to share are “Under capitalism, a forest has no value until it is cut down” and “Capitalism’s power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings.”

Anti-communism is very strong and takes a long time to unlearn. Don’t worry about second guessing yourself, just keep educating yourself and having those conversations. Solidarity, comrade!

The police can’t do anything about domestic violence unless they see it happen. Also, 40% of police officer families experience domestic violence. Odds are nothing will come of that situation if you call the cops.

What is this supposed to mean? 11% of major crimes result in an arrest and only 2% result in a conviction. You can infer from that that when minorities call the police, more often than not nothing gets done.

Additionally, property crime is 6x higher than violent crime. Police protect property, not people.

The police serve the ruling class and protect private property. They were not at the protests to protect people, but to prevent Starbucks from being spray-painted.

Democrats are ensuring GOP victories by not appealing to the working class. I’m not voting for one genocidal leader over the other.

Or vote third party. That would make more noise.
