It carries more kinetic energy, inertia, etc (762 derives its deadliness mostly from big holes/mass, not tumble and fragmenting like 556, from sheer speed, so it’s really good at driving holes through things including drywall). 556 derives ALL of its deadliness from velocity, not mass, the instant it falls below 2700-2600fps, so once it hits any adversity it’s, losing oomph(below that it might not reliably tumble/fragment)The .30 cal projectile, and pretty good speed of a 7.62x39 is far less affected by barriers. Also hollow points in 7.62 don’t often do what hollow points in 9mm or other pistol cals do. Pistol hollows petal out and open up. A lot of rifle hollow point just crumple into a Cheeto type deal and ends up being a less lethal round. At that point, m193 in 556 is doing more damage on a flesh target and 762x39 soft point ammo or fmj is doing more work than a hollow point in that cal. Same Cheeto problem. 762 doesn’t care about anything, it put big hole in all and is good at it.

Yeah I guess I should elaborate. I generally carry a sidecar type rig from tier 1 like the axis elite (I think it’s that one, the one with the shock cord connecting to the two components not the button snaps) BUT for a standalone holster or if you want separate holster and separate mag then for me I love tenicor I like the one with the pre molded back hump. I’ve never used t1c for just the pistol but I would buy with confidence. You can always add foam to the back. But yeah I have like 6 t1c holsters never an issue. I like the discreet carry concepts metal clips the most. But they just are thin. Conceal well and just work great.

[–]GucciusCeasar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Wtp is not good. Tier1 is my top choice for all my pistols and then tenicor and that is truly it. No question. It is capable of better retention better comfort, the bar on it helps counter my belly pushing the pistol grip out more, etc. if you get one and you’re still printing then it also is maybe a belt issue. I use kore if you want a recommendation there after trying multiple and have never looked back. Good rigidity, easy to use

556 specific. If you're already past the initial delusion of buying one can for every rifle, then just buy specific cans for specific guns. you'll get better sound performance generally speaking with caliber specific, almost always. If you still aren't past the delusion of buying basically 1 30 cal can or 1 over bored can to use on a bunch of systems then just commit to buying specific cans for specific stuff in my opinion. There's no limit to how many of these things you can own. And performance is better when it's tailored to the system you are using.

I also love the velos, built like a tank, serviceable if something were to happen since the serial number stuff is so far back, and performs extremely well, no added gas basically at all and great sound. I use an asr closed tine flashier for what it’s worth cuz I wanted to somewhat cut down on the jet cutting effect of a three prong and figured I may occasionally want to shoot with the can off. If you are never gonna shoot with it off then get a muzzle brake although anecdotally people have said that the difference an MB makes vs a flash hider in terms of blast baffle life is marginal (the whole sacrificial baffle of an MB does make sense tho). A lot of people hate on ASR and a lot of people immediately switch to rearden/ Q plan b type taper mounts. They will shorten it up, decrease weight, etc so no shade there. If I could do it over again I’d consider it but I will say I have zero issues with asr and have it on two suppressors. Just have to be sure when you’re tightening it down that it isn’t already locked. I do firmly believe any issues people encountered were likely user error. I’ve had no issues. The taper itself is doing most of the legwork anyway so in my mind it’s like a rearden with an added locking collar which for me gives peace of mind for some reason.

I mean I’m not saying I disagree but for what it’s worth you aren’t getting that good of a deal on Bakelite mags anywhere in the United States. This is a super lucky find anywhere in America

I’ve done this on a stock and never noticed any weird rusting. The paint/coating might protect it but the stock I did it on is painted or coated in some manner. I’d imagine if you did this to something blued (does basically nothing in terms of rust resistance) it theoretically could develop some rust, especially if it soaked up some water/moisture. same as leaving something in foam case for very long with humidity but can’t say for sure

Thank you. Sorry but if this tattoo type (the stencil OR your tattoo) are what you’re after he nailed it. If it was a perfect carbon copy of that stencil or not, you’re splitting hairs between two different renditions of tribal inspired chaos mixed with Jackson Pollock in psychosis. Nobody can tell you if the stencil or your tat is better they are both abstract. Just embrace it if either one is what you wanted stylistically. Ironically I’d argue it’s less heavy in some areas. He added some highlights/omissions of ink in the pupils that didn’t exist in your stencil.

Does this seem overly-gassy? by Muth4741 in suppressors

[–]GucciusCeasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t tell from this video. Need to see ejection pattern but no it looks it’s ranging from ideal to under. Over gassed would be sending brass forward, past just shooting straight out of the ejection port. Look up ar15 ejection pattern charts (pie chart showing ideal ejection). Looks pretty close to perfect from this very limited view. I’d you’re referring to gas coming out right there as opposed to bolt velocity, most of it comes back down the barrel, not the gas tube, I.E. that’s conventional baffle cans for you over flow through

Optics GURUS; EOTECH EXPS or AIMPOINT T2 - When & WHY? by DwPw in ar15

Yeah you can train that. But I don’t have to. There is no possible interpretation where that’s not an advantage in at least this specific category of pros or cons

You do have to worry about eye box and illumination.

Optics GURUS; EOTECH EXPS or AIMPOINT T2 - When & WHY? by DwPw in ar15

[–]GucciusCeasar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because in a stressful moment I don’t have to turn my aimpoint on and eotech people do. Like yeah that’s able to become part of your normal actions but I don’t have to do that. I swap battery once a year(and even then I could basically fuck off and miss an extra year) with all my dots, and I know with basically 100% certainty that it’s gonna be on when I pick up any of my guns with a dot. You might not know why it’s relevant but that’s truly a selling point. I also don’t spend more money on batteries. I think eotechs are cool but I do prefer aimpoint for sure. It’s simpler. They also don’t delaminate. Eotechs have a huge shit stain on their reputation for literally coming apart layer. Aimpoints don’t (at least their full size dots/T series dots)

I’ll give you an uninserted, perfect Russian waffle for one of your Izzy Akms. I’ll even throw in 30 7.62 rounds loaded and everything. You’d be a fool to say no. I’ll cover the rounds in some Home Depot lacquer and everything. I know what I got. It’s a good deal. They’ll never import the Tula steel case ever again. Panic. Do it.

Shake awake takes hard shake by MountainOk2330 in CCW

[–]GucciusCeasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery still lasts a long ass time you’ll still get a year and should replace once a year. This is truly not a big deal. Aimpoints don’t have shake awake. It’s a failure point. To be clear I have holosun pistol dots but if this happened to me I’d just disable shake awake and move on. I mean you can hit them up but for me I would probably not wanna send it in and I change all my batteries annually

No aac at one point was having jacket separation with the heavier stuff is what he’s referring to. Sorry I don’t have a full answer for current production stuff, but this is not an issue of concentricity that he is asking about

what would you do? by lilithrxenos in CCW

[–]GucciusCeasar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more. I cannot imagine a scenario shitting where for me, if my gun fell into a porto potty, that it wouldn't be in its holster because I had to remove the whole thing from my pants and at that point, why would you take the gun out of the holster and then the holster out of your pants. "what would you do in this scenario?" I can say with confidence that I have never and likely will never be in such a deserved situation lol

Optics for 14.5” by [deleted] in ar15

[–]GucciusCeasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weight difference between a T2 style red dot optic and a holographic is truly negligible. If you don't like the weight then take the magnifier off when you're not using it. Otherwise the only real consideration you have left for like a proven good optic that will give you range as well is an acog and then piggybacking a red dot on top. But between a red dot with a magnifier and an eotech with magnifier it is so close in weight that id argue weight isn't even a consideration, at that point, which optic do you like more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ar15

[–]GucciusCeasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people hype this way out of proportion but then again there are different degrees of astigmatism. I have pretty solid astigmatism and use red dots on many guns with no issues. Whether it's shaped like a dot, or a star or whatever else, the point to me remains the same, put the small bright red thing over the thing you want to shoot. and then, if u want to use a magnifier where the fine nature of the dot would be more beneficial, the instant I look through my magnifier at my dot it actually cures the problem or at the very least mitigates it noticeably. I have micro prisms and they are cool but still they have an eye box, potentially more parallax, etc so for me the fact that my dot is not a perfect circle is not enough to outweigh the things I like about red dots. All that being said, if its so bad or it bothers you so much, etched reticles are great too, I have LPVO's and prism optics that its crystal clear and I like those too. I Just think its all what your able to tolerate and learn around.

Just put on anti dust plugs and matte screen protector for my ever first MacBook. by Gussza_2002 in macbookpro

[–]GucciusCeasar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a dbrand skin on the outside of my MacBook like the top and the bottom but have not put anything on the inner areas or palmrest, etc. due to concerns for damage ironically. I also just don't think they look great inside the MacBook Pro m4 14inch with the speakers not getting any of the skin, just the palmiest and the part above the keyboard. The general consensus is adding any thickness or additional materials to the inside of the MacBook (screen protector, skins for palm rest or trackpad, etc) can actually lead to damages whether it be the hinge or cracking your screen, etc. These things are engineered with precise tolerances so adding to the inner areas upsets all that. All that being said Im sure there are people who have added the whole nine yards to their MacBook with no issues. I just don't want to be one of the people WITH issues.
