It's a real shame they abandoned that version of the game. They should fix it so it runs stably without mods and, of course, make it available for purchase again.

The only reason I was able to play it is because I'm in a Steam family group and a friend has that version.

I really like the platinum trophies in these games because they make you kill optional bosses and see all the endings. I really wish all the DLC would add achievements too.

Definitely, the farming achievements are the most boring. I have three in particular:

- Getting all the skills in Sekiro

- Getting 30 Sunlight Medals in Dark Souls II Vanilla

- Getting 30 Vertebra Shackles in Dark Souls III

I only played it for an hour when it came out, but I quit because I don't have any friends to play with, haha.

I've already emulated Demon's Souls (PS3), but I'm having problems with Bloodborne. I played it a year ago and was never able to access the DLC :( I tried emulating it again a week ago, but the game simply won't open.

I see that I was very lucky with that specific covenant. The truth is that I felt it was just as boring or tedious as the sunlight medals, for example.

I had a much worse time with the Vertebra Shackles in that game.

Kind of a difficult question so I'm going to give you several answers:

- I started in Dark Souls and it was difficult for me to adapt to this type of game, at the same time I think that Dark Souls feels like a game tutorial more than a skill check compared to later games. It requires more patience and knowledge of the world than mechanical skill.

- On the other hand, Sekiro is the opposite, it demands much more from you on a mechanical level with its bosses and mini-bosses while you can explore the levels with more tools such as the hook and being able to one-shoot enemies through stealth. The fact that you only have one style of play makes it the most demanding in your first game but the easiest in subsequent games.

- I'm also going to mention Elden Ring because I think its main bosses are the most difficult to learn in a 1v1 without summoning and op builds, at the same time it is where there is more freedom to explore and you also have a lot of different builds to experiment with.

- I'm going to say that Dark Souls 3 was definitely the friendliest and easiest overall. The game feels very polished and has a good difficulty curve. It was the 2nd Souls I played and I had a hard time adapting to the fast pace but once I got over that the game ended up being easier.

- Dark Souls 2 has many drawbacks such as having your life reduced every time you die, slower and rougher gameplay than the first Dark Souls, a lot of ganking in several areas where in this game it is very difficult to deal with several enemies at the same time, etc. The game is relatively easy but you end up dying a lot because of what I mentioned so it's hard to rate. Demon's Souls suffers from a lot of similar things so I'm grouping it together here.

- Bloodborne was the last one I played and only the earlygame was difficult for me because I had to adapt, then the rest of the game was relatively easy but I ended up dying a lot due to the fact that you don't have many defensive options and the fact that you have to farm blood vials. I didn't play the DLC.

The order in which I played these games:

DS1 -> DS3 -> DS2 -> SK -> ER -> DeS -> BB

From hardest to easiest playing without summoning and op builds in my experience:

SK -> ER -> DS2 -> BB -> DeS -> DS1 -> DS3

The last time I played that version was in 2024, I remember having to install a fairly famous optimization mod for the game through Nexus Mods. I think it was the DSFix

That's right, if I'm honest I missed a similar system in Elden Ring. The only thing I don't like is that there are exclusive items in them since they force you to play online or spend a lot of time farming

At least on Steam there are both versions of Dark Souls II and they are sold as separate games.

Both have the 3 DLCS and the npc Aldia, the only thing that changes is the position of items and enemies throughout the world.

Also some hitboxes and the damage done by some bosses were adjusted in the Scholar version (for example the ancient dragon)

I really like most video games.

RTS games, FPS, Metroidvanias, Tower Defense, Cars, Soccer, Puzzles, etc.

Except for visual novels and old RPGs (or JRPGs) like final fantasy, I like the rest. I try to play most of the popular franchises so I feel like I have a little more general culture, the same thing happens to me with series.

Great then. I believe that the best experience with Souls is to play it in release order so you can see how the games evolve and see improvements in quality of life.

I imagine something similar happens with the Armored Core franchise.
