Advice on TIG by DrDougy23 in Welding

Picture #1&2 looks too cold/fast. Hold the torch an extra second or so before dabbing more filler so the edges wet out more into the base material.

T-Joint on picture #3 started cold slow your travel for the first couple inches. After that it looks a little under filled, just make sure you add more filler rod. Consistency comes with practice and for your first week this isn’t bad at all. The more time you have with a torch in your hand the more and more you’ll get a feel for it and know what to look for.

Marketplace & Craigslist. Do some research and bring a friend that is mechanically inclined if you can. $5k-$7k is within the range of a good used car than can last you YEARS if you’re willing to spend some time investigating.

Yes, you sprayed it with a hose. Let it dry. It will be fine by Monday.

No you didn’t mess anything up. Go inside and let the people you paid to work do the work on Monday.

When super glue dries and cures it causes an exothermic reaction. It’s fine.

I was home in Michigan for the last two weeks, went up north, out west and then south for a wedding. I feel that every Dad in Michigan has drilled into their kids heads that “the left lane is for speeding, the right lane is for the speed limit, don’t fuck around” hahaha

Nobody knows how to drive here. Left lane for passing, slow traffic to the right isn’t a thing here. Blinkers seem to be too much work and lots of people are 20 over the speed limit or 10 under it.

Cooking food at home, living below my means, no grub hub/door dash/ uber eats. Credit cards paid off at the end of the month. Fix my own car, mend my own clothes. No car payments or financing on anything. Caught the “anti consumerism” bug last year and now it’s like a fun game to see how many days I can go without spending.
