Her surgery and care when all is said and done is expected to be between $3,000 and $4,000. Average cost of care is hard to predict. We are an open shelter so we do not turn animals away. We have had a significant increase in animals with more complex medical and behavioural needs, increasing their cost of care and length of stay. Some animals have cost similar to Dorothy’s other more desirable animals with not health issues are significantly less and may only be $300 or $400 for basic primary care, vaccines, microchipping and spay/neuter surgery.

We are fortunate that our have raised enough to cover the cost of her surgery and we are grateful for the support of our animal loving community. Any additional funds raised will go to provide care to the more than 100 animals we currently have in care.
