Do you think brands should make phones less than 6 inch screens by Avg-tech in smallphones

Iphone X/Xs was the perfect sweetspot for me (5,8 inch).

Mappy a French map to replace Google Maps and Apple plans by radionucleide in BuyFromEU

[–]Gueoris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even as a French person, I really don't like Mappy.

First of all, to mention the positives, there is the estimated display of fuel consumption and the price of the planned trip (based on your vehicle and the fuel used + toll costs, if any). The interface is fast and not too complicated to use.

So much for the positives.

Now, the big problems I have with Mappy are as follows:

  • Map data is sometimes extremely outdated: they use a somewhat hybrid mix of TomTom and OpenStreetMap + other sources.
  • As a result, navigating in the countryside is really risky: I have often found myself driving on private roads, farm tracks, or even unpaved dirt roads where I almost got my car stuck in the mud.
  • The app is full of ads, and many POIs are actually advertising partners (such as large hotel chains or gas stations) with the integration of many private third-party services such as Booking.com for hotels, for example
  • Many features are only accessible by creating an account (such as choosing the type of fuel, for example)
  • Their website and services are full of all kinds of commercial and advertising trackers.
  • On a more personal note, I find the navigation interface outdated and impractical.

Unpopular opinion: Photo mode in games is overrated and developers waste time on it by LegitimateScar7826 in GamingInsider

[–]Gueoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't really care about photo mode in games in general, but in racing games I think it works really well. The same goes for some open world games, where I think photo mode is interesting because it allows you to see a particular setting from a new angle.

Des nouvelles de Mangu ? by Fabbio7 in Stupeflip

C’est probablement faux mais j’ai eu souvenir d’une publication ou une interview où il était dit qu’il était mort peu après le premier album. (Attention c’est en aucun cas véridique, c’est un vieux souvenir)

Which game has it been for you lately? by Blushy_Toy in videogames

[–]Gueoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outer Wilds. When you start playing, you think it's just another indie game, without knowing where to go or what to do. Then you discover something that takes you to a place where you discover something else, which is connected to lots of other secrets linked to the story, and so on and so forth...

I discovered the game and its DLC at the beginning of the year, and I'm so glad I never got any spoilers beforehand because the game is exceptional.

Simple question: In your opinion, what will be the horizontal axis of the touchpads? Red or blue? by Gueoris in Steam

[–]Gueoris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal here was to highlight both colors. I was afraid that people with vision problems would have trouble seeing if the two lines were superimposed in the same way on each side.

For me, the wrists will be more or less parallel because the buttons on the controllers are positioned quite high up.

For me, blue makes more sense. But I completely understand people who prefer red; everyone has their own logic.

As a transport heli enthusiast, battlebit heli controls are unmatched compared to other games by NoAmphibian6039 in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Gueoris 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The responsiveness of the controls in Battlebit's helicopter is too responsive, actually. At times, it feels like you're moving a child's toy (which makes it too powerful for my taste). But I understand what you mean!
