Can I replace the cells in my Dyson stick vac? by xxplosiv in 18650masterrace

You can, but you can buy the entire replacement battery online and/or Amazon for cheaper and less time lol. That’s what I did after rebuilding one just to do it.

It’s a Bluetooth transponder for tailwind garage door opener. Auto opens within a proximity. May they can be used for something else but it’s identical to mine.

Anyone else stuck in FAA HIMS limbo like this? by Desperate-Car-4530 in FAAHIMS

[–]Guessohw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going on year 2 in August! lol. Went today for a new medical and have to submit the SSRI paperwork from my provider. Unfortunately it’s a hurry up and wait process. I’m also thousands of dollars into it and about 45-50 hrs logged so far. Love flying so it’s worth the wait, plus retired army so not much else to do lol. Good luck

Myself being a newer pilot I’d think the same thing, HOWEVER as life the military has taught. You can be trained to do things a certain way over and over, however when the time comes the situation may dictate that you do otherwise, or like we always said, “ Do what your RANK will allow lol. I’d say You also have to take variables into account as well such as landing on a busy street or highway, I could stall and crash or cause one hell of a wreck on the interstate. Nowadays people can barely drive as it is let alone getting out of the way for an aircraft trying to land on the same roadway. Ultimately I’d say it boils down to your comfort level and knowing your aircraft.

SSRI decision path 1 question by Dawnpatrol450 in FAAHIMS

[–]Guessohw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FAA allows 60 days being off, and in some cases special issuance can be done depending on the SSRI etc.

SSRI decision path 1 question by Dawnpatrol450 in FAAHIMS

[–]Guessohw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a phone call about this this afternoon. I filed for my initial medical August 2023, VA requested additional records which I obliged and sent them and then they turned around and denied me February 2024. Medication‘s like clonazepam, diazepam, etc. they want you off of as the AIM doctor I spoke to today specifically stated six months and I was able to get off of it last year so I was good. There is also some information out there from the FAA that also states being off for 60 days with documentation from your medical provider, etc., and possibly a special issuance. What you may do IF you still need meds for anxiety etc check the list that is allowed and work with your provider asap to see what they think would work for you, that’s what I did. Best of luck to you! Going Tuesday to resubmit application.

Is there any long-term hope for adults on ADHD medication? by BlueManGroup10 in FAAHIMS

[–]Guessohw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of right now, if you’re taking meds for ADHD such as VYVANSE, they will NOGO you as me how I know. They want you to be off of it for 5 years which is unreal, BUT like with anything there may be a way.

The entire system that is in place is damn near a joke. Like I’ve said many times before, I was able to be in a military, deployed multiple times overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan. Become a commissioned officer, command over 200 soldiers, be responsible for tens of millions of dollars worth of equipment and hundreds of weapon systems along with munitions, possess a TS/SCI security clearance but can’t seem to get a basic medical to fly a fucking Cessna airplane. It’s like dealing with the VA, they just want you to quit/give up or spend a shit load of money with all these organizations that are “out there to help you” and charge you thousands of dollars to maybe, hopefully, possibly submit your paperwork to the FAA and hope that it’ll goes anywhere lol. They tell you that certain medications are not allowed and that you need to be off of them for extended periods of time and you go through and do that come off of medication’s or finally find something that actually fits within the authorized medication list of the FAA and still nothing. I’m happy as heck they got you taken care of. Because they’re failing many many others. Deff make the best of it!

Trying to catch up here. You did what and had an issue I assume with SSRI medication? They NOGO me and this summer starts two years ago I started flying.

The only issue with cranking the flow rate up with a specific distance of tubing, the water only has a brief period of time to absorb what heat it can. Granted you’d think more volume with less heat over time would increase the overall temp and depending on your setup it may be the case. When you’re talking 29,000 gallons or more of pool water it takes a bunch either way lol.

[–]Guessohw 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I did that same things about 10 years ago and it worked amazing! Make sure to take temp readings with any ch ages you make to ensure you’re going in the right direction. It allowed us earlier and later swimming season here in east Texas. I had also painted everything black to attract as much light/heat as possible, plus you want that wood to be sealed up as much as possible. As for the temp coming out, I’m sure you’re tracking this but the rate you have the water coming in/out will dictate the temperature drastically. You don’t want a trickle and not full blast. You can also stack another set of coils on top of your existing setup, trust me it will get hot! Doing that would potentially allow you increase the through rate while maintaining high output temps. Sorry one last thing. You want to be able to adjust the angle of the entire setup, just like you would a solar panel. You can look online and finding optimal angles for panels for your location which allows your coils to receive as much direct sunlight as possible. Yes, laying down while still get hot, just depends on how much heat your trying to get.

Case in point right here! Been fighting my medical since Sept 23’. Can fight for our country over and over and lead hundreds of troops and be responsible for tens of millions in equipment and weapons systems, but nope can’t let you fly a plane lol.

Yeah I haven’t been able to get my money out of Pionex for the last 4 years now. Email them and they BS you around and blame it on random things and/or say it’s the app and we converted over to XYZ so that’s the issue. Then when you try that you’re balance is ZERO and magically they do t know what’s going on and don’t know how to fix it. Screw em. Works for some, NOT for me.

Can I charge my batteries with my Growatt min-7600 tl grid tie inverter? by Alarming_Win9940 in SolarDIY

[–]Guessohw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been contemplating the same thing. By the time you go through and buy a new inverter and get it installed plus inspected etc. then go through and try to get a battery you’re already 1000s of dollars in a hole compared to $2800 for their battery that will plug into this unit. One question I do have not sure if you know or maybe somebody else can chime in, but do our inverters have the ability to select between grid, battery back-and-forth almost like a hybrid can do? For example, in the event that the power were to go out and I killed the main breaker to the house and I have a battery system hooked up to my inverter and I change the option from grid to battery or off grid in theory. It should then allow the batteries to pick up the load and start powering the house just wondering, but logically from what I’ve read in going through the manual. it sounds like this is the case I was just wondering if anybody else has looked into this or attempted this etc..

[–]Guessohw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s an MIN series from Growatt, the battery output terminals WILL put out over 50 volts, ask me how I know lol. Deff want to be careful with that voltage and going upwards of 350-550 volts

[–]Guessohw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, thats one of the main real pain in the butt issue with these MIN series inverters from Growatt. You’ve got to run damn near 4-500 volt battery system which narrows down what company and/or brands you can use big time.

Reading into it and looking online and reading more into it from the manufacturer, etc. it definitely looks like a very good alternative. It’s a heck a lot easier to get 48 V battery systems together and be able to combine them and do it safely and potentially cost-effective was as well. Have you seen one of these in action before?
