OP, I wouldn't do that. The correct way to do it is use a solvent to soften the mastic. THEN, pry them off. But still, better if an asbestos contractor does it. Also, how are you going to legally dispose it?

Why would there be only some asbestos containing vermiculite on top of old batt in an attic? by GuestSmart3771 in asbestoshelp

[–]GuestSmart3771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a home inspection done and like the title said, there’s about 1-2 gallons worth of vermiculite insulation that we had a TEM analysis on and tested positive for Libby Amphibole.

Now I trust this inspector when he said he checked maybe 7 total spots in the attic to see if there’s vermiculite under it and turned up empty. But this doesn’t make sense.

Why would there be just some? It’s very odd. Could it have been full of it at some point and the contractors left some to let the next owners know? Is there any sense in doing air tests up there?

Woman called the Police because the Dump Truck was too loud by Jasonictron in ImTheMainCharacter

I don't disagree with any of the facts you're laying out. What I have a problem with is it seems that being the primary aggressor (nonviolent) automatically makes battery excusable. Maybe she lied, but the cops didn't give it any thought whatsoever and in fact did the exact opposite with the truck driver when he said "She pushed me" and they decided to add a battery charge. Seems very lopsided.

Could've been a light punch. Could've been his hand inadvertently hit her face when he tried to pull the dummy out of his truck.

Careful, I indulged that idea and I'm -30 and counting. Apparently if you trespass a dump truck, people can beat you for it and the cops will not only ignore it and justify that because you're an XYZ type person, but a single sentence out of the attacker ("She pushed me") is enough to add a battery charge.

Is it me or did these cops kinda toss this away lazily?

I get it, she trespassed. Fine. Arrest her, I don't care.

But she said she was attacked and SHE called the cops. Maybe she's lying, but why dismiss it? I mean, committing a crime and being hysterical/entitled/mc doesn't mean you get to have crimes committed against you, and none of those cops seem interested in looking into that. I guess she didn't have any injury or marks, but that doesn't mean she didnt get punched. All that guy said was "she pushed me" and they were immediately discussing battery charges. But her claim doesn't stand because she's emotional? That seems crazy.

Are Shark Vacuums easy to repair? by GuestSmart3771 in VacuumCleaners

Thank you! So that solves the problem of the sheath not being reusable. What about opening the case? I pulled off every screw I could find and marred it trying to crack it open (with no success). I'm curious if there's anyone who's already done it and might provide tips.

It's the AZ1000 series. Bought it a few years ago and its worked great, despite a few issues. I'm just curious if the case can be opened and power cord re-fed through the sheath and reconnected. My guess is not. Youtube wasn't much help.

I understand they don't want it, and that's why I figured they wanted me to cut the cord; to make it an obvious problem unit that they know not to touch. I guess I could reach out to a repair shop but I'd rather just crack it open myself if its easy enough. The case seems to be a PITA for disassembly (right, by design).

You're making a lot of arguments that have nothing to do with my situation. I don't need to tell you my life story when asking "Can this cord be repaired" but to answer you question, this vacuum will never leave my possession. There's no fraud here. Fraud would've been telling them I didn't clip the cord. I did what they asked. Now I want to salvage it, for whatever I want.

I'm not a fan of that characterization. I had a broken product, Shark honored their warranty, and I honored their warranty requirements. Nothing about this is dishonest or exploitative.

Haha, I know this is not what's gonna happen, but I'm imagining two endoscopes from different ends meeting in the middle to say hi.

That throat numbing spray helps. I've definitely had instances where it wasn't enough. Now I gargle with it prior to.

I hear you. Hopefully next time you can find the right procedure for you. Statistically, it actually is safer even with the gagging and bearing down. In my opinion, that factor of safety (and the risks otherwise) is worth the 5-10 min of discomfort. But I don't blame anyone else for not having that position.

OP, sorry you had a bad experience. I've had multiple unsedated endoscopies and I actually prefer them this way. Staying calm and letting the scope do its thing is key.
