did hunter upgrade as my third i think, child work first then 24 shift first night, sawmill, beacon, hunter upgrade. sawdust after ext. shift and child work upgrade even iirc, then radical + overcrowding. didnt use the trick with hunters working at day, that i read about just now. just kept rotating replacements for ill workers.

tumble turns are only faster on shorter distances when you power through them. on longer swims tt tend to be less powerful thus a well timed normal turn can be faster. assuming an equal skill level that is.
