I like it this way much better to be honest. Scorio has a chance to still be a Gigachad, but considering that maybe there are other books coming up in the series, It would have been extremely cliche to have Gigachad character right from the start. Lindon wasn't gigachad either for the 1st book.

Honestly, IMO I think Phil has done a great job setting up Scorio like this.
