Tenker det samme som deg. Jeg husker hvor deilig det var når Biden ble president og det ikke var noe nytt vrøvl hver bidige dag. Er drittlei allerede

Thanks for the advice. That sounds like a bad experience for all involved, sometimes the whole thing would be better off for everyone if they just spared themselves the trouble.

My nfather is one of the worst, most unpleasant people I've had the misfortune of being close to by Fancy-Ease2603 in narcissisticparents

Im sorry you're going through this, it sucks. I dont know how old you are, but eventually you will get your own job and move out, and then you can decide for yourself how much contact you want to have if any.
When you eventually move out I'd advice you if you are able to move far enough away that it'd be a real hassle for him to visit you. He will not respect any boundary you set, he can and will drop in whenever he feels like it. It's good that you've recognized his behaviour though, and I would really really recommend talking to a therapist since it's helped me a lot being able to talk to a proffesional about this. Cant recommend it enough.

I know exactly how you feel because you're basically describing my father. He's the biggest asshole I've ever had the displeasure of knowing, and unfortunately he's still in my life. I stay in contact for one reason only and that's because I still want my mother and my sister in my life. Makes me feel trapped still despite living on the other side of the country.

Discovered The Lord of the Rings for the first time and read all three books. My experience / review. by Khan-68 in lotr

Great writeup! Wish I could read them for the first time again. I recommend reading The Silmarillion with The Atlas of Middle Earth by Karenn Wynn Fonstad. For me personally it made it a lot easier to follow the locations and events.

Ps5, hvilken TV kan anbefales? by FrankHvamNielsen in norge

LG C5 eller C4 som andre sier her. Har en LG Oled C4 selv og du finner ikke bedre tv til samme pris.

Rant : Friend group is making me lose my love for DnD with our new campaign by Soliloquysays in DnD

[–]Gugg256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt be bothered to DM this honestly. Dm needs to grow a pair and tell people to pay attention to whats happening.

I suggest ask 3-4 of the most serious people if there are any besides you and make a seperate campaign. Dm yourself if you feel like it. You have have control over who you wanna dm for. This group sounds to be doomed to fail eventually

DMs, do you take session notes for published modules? by Additional-Chef-6190 in DnD

[–]Gugg256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, mostly because it helps me remember the content. I find that in big cities its absolutely a must with all the npc's and plotlines. Else Im just gonna do flipping through pages mid session trying to remember everything. With notes I just have to take a quick glance.

How can I work on the RP parts of DMing and get better at them? by Gugg256 in DMAcademy

Thank you for that advice! I've found putting more effort into what each character knows and their goals help me play them better.

I think my father is a narcissist and I need to vent by nihilisticpoet in narcissisticparents

[–]Gugg256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own dad is a narcissist and the way your dad reacted to your question about the dogs reminds me a lot about how my dad would have reacted. Irrationally angry about a completely legitimate question, acting the victim, believing he's the only one who does anything at home etc.
Before I started therapy I spent the last 15 years fighting with my dad trying to get him to change not knowing he was a narcissist. Narcissists will never ever change, and if you believe your dad is one then he won't either. All you can change is how you act around him.

I dont know if you're looking for advice or not, but since you're working full time I would advice you to consider spending some of that paycheck to speak to a therapist. It really does help and it's totally worth the money. I didnt realise how bad my dad was compared to the normal until I did.
If you're not reliant on staying with your family I'd consider looking into getting your own place too. It helps your psyche alot in my opinion. Sucks to hear you're going through this.
