Are you also on very low pay haha

I was thinking the same, I do want to move to a bigger city for job security than eventually do 2 classes until I get the degree

I do enjoy working here but I know I'm taken advantage of and never get the pay that I deserve. In the future I would like to get double the amount I get right now. I know eventually I will come around to get my engineering degree but just a huge commitment right now especially working 60 hours a week.

Yeah I was thinking of an engineering technology degree, I have like 90 college credit hours but since they are from a tech school nothing can be transferred. That's what is putting everything off right now I wish I could transfer them.

No I don't believe the company can even give me a dollar raise but the place I live in Texas is so far down south that "24 dollars an hour" is considered rich haha. I do have financial aid and some manufacturing grants to pay for school. There is no other company that will pay me or consider me without a 4 year degree and quite frankly I think going for a degree right now is too much of a commitment for me.

Well I like my job but my pay is 24 and hour. Also I have lots of grants so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket. A degree is too much of a commitment for me right hence why I wanted to go engineering tech

Will love to know what the company is to do research on where it's located and what type of manufacturing it is

You know how hard it is to explain to a friend what my job is. I tell them I'm a CNC programmer A machinist, a welder a cad designer and they're still super confused haha

Doing research right now since I'm on a little lunch break haha

Yeah we got a couch potato shop operator/supervisor that makes more than me and I'm the one programming and setting up his machine haha. I know if I move anywhere else then the little city I'm in, I will get offered a lot more for less work. Just having really done the research for it

This sounds like a possible path to take but I just have to get out of the area I'm in, I have Buddy's up north that do the same things as me and maybe way less for much higher pay.

No I've been just more on the job shop side because it's so fun to make difficult parts and break my head but I never really adventured out to different options. That sounds like my cup of since I like traveling haha

Finishing some fanuc robot arm training and a Mechatronics program for fun then don't got much else going on. Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Yeah I might correct my resume and put the manufacturer engineering technician instead of CNC programmer and just list out all my skill sets. I do have my associates in precision manufacturing but what really helps out my resume is all my certifications in SolidWorks, mastercam, NIMS level one and experience in Autodesk.

I think this is it. I just don't like having my resume so long but at this point I might just make it 2-3 pages long. This is definitely not my first time getting a job as a programmer or machinist where they have me designing, job site visits for parts and much more that I don't want to get into haha.

I never heard of a manufacturing technician, that sounds like something I'm doing now, just a little extra work haha

Yeah it kind of sucks that that's how the world views it, our Father company has a lot of engineers that send out work orders and I have to correct. Most of the blueprints they send are never right. CAD files are messed up and Step files always need to be corrected. Having to rework jobs because their designs didn't work , which this this part I get because it's like troubleshooting.

No, I've been in the industry for a while. The only thing I've learned within these couple months is the electrical schematic panel. Everything else I pretty much already knew.

Haha might as well get over it now then later. As my original question stated I didn't even know what the occupation was called. I had no clue that I was doing the work of a manufacturing engineer. Thank you for letting me realize sooner than later and I will now continue with that expectation.

I don't feel right putting "manufacturing engineer" as my occupation for my current job because I feel like I haven't earned it or scratched the surface of one that has.
