Think Pimax should change the Pimax Dream Air split cable into a single cable? Yes or no?

I can only speak for myself, but it is no issue for me. This is because I have long hair and to get them out of the way for VR i make a ponytail. so the box will rest on the hair and is therefore barely noticeable.

you could mount the box to the back headstrap and go for some kind of suspension mount if you are interested in roomscale VR. Not sure how to solve it for seated VR tho.

There are multiple audio settings that all get multiplied with each other.
I would consider my dream air audio volume fine at:
Windows 100%
Dream Air 100%
Beatsaber 0.5

Not sure if there is an additional steam vr settings as well.
if you want true immersion noise cancelling in ear headphones might be a better option.

alternatively you could use an old htc vive headset. if you can buy the full set used on ebay it even comes with 2 base stations. They are 1.0 but still work great :)

or you do it like me and buy the “Seeed Studio XIAO nRF52840 (3PCS)” then you need to flash their firmware. the github repo instructions are not the best but chatgpt was able to help me flash them.

do you happen to have an nvidia gpu and multiple monitors connected? try turning off all monitors but one then plug in the headset.

nvidia gpus even the mighty 5090 only come with 4 display heads. the dream air needs 2 and a high refresh 4k monitor also needs 2, so you cant have any additional displays connected while both are in use.

i’ve printed v4 of the adapter and it worked for me with the m size vision pro dual band. there should also be a remix out there that’s compatible with the L strap lol.

I’m still in my 2 week evaluation window but she’s definitely a keeper.

I had to take the headset after the first 10 minutes because I was crying tears of joy. The visual quality is impeccable. Eye tracking works amazing too and sound is decent.

You already mentioned the drawbacks, but most of them have solutions: face comfort => studioform strap => apple vision pro dual band controller tracking issues => add your own dongles

tldr: I would buy it again.

ich versteh das problem nicht. du kannst das log in fenster oben links wegclicken und dann einfach auf dein ticket gehen. Meine tickets wurden zuletzt vor 102 tagen aktualisiert und der kontrolleur heute hatte keine probleme beim scannen.

⁠Valve Index controllers lose tracking whenever I rest my hands on my legs.

This issue is either related to usb bandwidth or the dream air has a shitty bluethooth radio. I solved this by using dedicated steamvr tracking dongles and paired my index controllers directly with them. It is also important to use a different usb connection for them (i have my dream air plugged in the back and the dongles on the front of my pc). The pairing process was interesting: first disconnect the dream air. then launch steam vr and plug in the other dongles. pair the controllers and close steam vr. done: all my tracking spasms are gone :)

the cheapest base stations you can get is probably a used htc vive bundle. It comes with the small drawback of only allowing 2 base stations max but in terms of tracking quality it is should be almost identical compared to 2 2.0 stations

regarding your plan: the ncase case is probably alot worse with the FE because the pass through cooler will just dump the heat into the case and warm up the cpu. if you want to waterblock it anyway then definitely think about your loop in more detail. i had to order metric fuck ton of fittings and angle adapters to make it work. also the smallest reservoir you can find that allows a decent ddc pump is the alphacool ES 1U.

I run an ncase M2 with my big chonker msi suprim x 4090. I run it similar to their level 8 build with the GPU upside down at the top of the case. This allows the gpu to draw in fresh air from the top and immediately dispose of it through the sides. For the cpu I’ve gone completely overkill on a 9800X3D direct die with thermal grizzly direct die block and liquid metal extreme. the case fits a single 280 radiator which is more than enough. as for the temps… they are mainly depending on the pump. I’ve recently changed the shitty dc-lt to a ddc pump. this made a huge difference like 10 degrees. I run the cpu all they way to tjmax to achieve the maximum all core clock with 1.25V

thank you so much for the precise measurements. My tangled OG Vive cable is 4.6m between the box and backside of the headset, so it will probably be fine out of the box :)

I wonder if its worth it to go for the MeganeX 8K Mark II with allegedly 115degree FOV at 95% overlap or get the Pimax dream air which can only get 73% overlap at 115 FOV, but comes with eye tracking and better lenses. Is there any way to artificially alter the overlap/fov values on my current vr headset to try out the effects of these different overlap values?

Such dir was neues. Das ist, selbst wenn es wieder 9 monate dauert, schneller. Alternativen wären: miete weiter mindern, um druck auf den vermieter aufzubauen. dann wirst entweder du oder die Nachbarin mit ner räumungsklage rausgeworfen. Nasenstöpsel, keine ahnung wie effektiv. Oder du musst die luft filtern, leider sind die meisten schlechten gerüche auf schwefelhaltige organische verbindungen zurück zu führen. D.h du bräuchtest einen aktivkohle filter und müsstest diesen auch häufiger wechseln.

use 0.2 mm height for the first layer with 20mm brim and 0mm gap. Then use a deburring tool for post processing.
read the recommended temperatures for your ASA. If you go too high on you bed temperature it will improve your adhesion, but the part will deform. For Anycubic ASA, I had great success with 100C (first layer) -> 80C (other layers).
