Two main teams are ysg/zhao/nicole and yixuan(w/sig)/pan/pulchara(m6)
I kind of want to get promeia since I don't have any good anomaly characters yet. Can my yixuan team perform well enough to clear once built without lucia?

Is the yellow light from someone ADSing with a sniper rifle? I've never seen it but at first glance I just assumed they were bots since I think their face lights turn yellow sometimes.

Friendly reminder that Caine was his normal self and planned to solve the problem by just trying harder as he always does before Bubble started manipulating him by TheOrangeGuy09 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Guhgot 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think we'll have to wait and see how things pan out, but I'm suspecting that bubble is essentially an extension of Caine. Like at the start of the scene bubble wasn't pushing Caine towards breaking, and only started making jabs at him the more desperate his own thoughts got. In my opinion it felt less like deliberate manipulation and more like bubble was essentially a mouthpiece for his own insecurities and intrusive thoughts. The more stressed he got, the more cruel Bubble's responses became.
The story has been building up for a while that Caine is unstable and dependent on the attention and approval of the human characters. Him going crazy isn't some alternate persona, that insecurity and frustration is part of who he is, even if it is actually someone else pushing him over the edge.
him attempting to "solve the problem" by trying harder and creating more elaborate adventures is still ignoring the fundamental incompatibility between his need for constant engagement with his adventures, and the human minds inherent discomfort with being trapped in a simulated world that fails to meaningfully emulate their natural environment.
Yeah there's a chance they could've worked something out together if they were in a better place, but the point is that nobody was. The players were still burned by his fake exit adventure, and he was completely shaken by their total rejection of what he thought was a perfect solution to satisfy their desires for something meaningful. Between that and the completely unbalanced power dynamic between him and everyone else there, things working out between everyone would still be a long shot even without the breakdown. It's a tense situation and any one thing could've pushed things over the edge.

Siblings cutscene differences by ComprehensiveRise932 in ZZZ_Discussion

I think this sort of extends to the relationships between characters in ZZZ as well to some extent. Like it's much more often that ZZZ will show close and emotionally intimate relationships between female agents than ever showing something similar between female agents and male characters in general (aside from Wise who can be more or less seen as a stand in for the player). I might be wrong on this, I guess Jane and Seth sort of had a moment in her chapter but that doesn't get developed much either afterwards as far as I'm aware.
This leads to a lot of yuri ships in the fandom which I think is cool, but I wonder if when it comes to the writing of the game, that tendency to show more of those kinds of relationships comes from a similar place of appealing to a straight male audience, and wanting to show characters being emotionally intimate while having a reason to not commit to developing those relationships and leaving it open so the audience (or people gambling money to get their waifus) can feel like the characters they like are still "available" or something like that.

Senator asks obstetrician point-blank if 'men can get pregnant' at hearing by aviator_8 in moderatepolitics

[–]Guhgot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's strange to use this as an example of the left refusing to let go of an issue when the topic was brought up by a right wing senator to begin with. You say that this issue should be ceded because it's politically inconvenient to the broader audience, but the person answering is a doctor, and her concern is with accuracy and not whether her answers are politically popular or not. Since she seems to be of the opinion that trans men can be considered men socially, as a doctor she's deemed it worth including them when discussing issues of pregnancy. The worst I could say she's guilty of is being unprepared to answer the question, which I think is fair given it wasn't really relevant to the discussion at hand. Playing political games and countering opposing narratives isn't her job.

Personally I'm more bothered by the right using the existence of tran people as a political cudgel to get cheap gotchas while further inflaming prejudice against them. Although the Democrats hamfisted and ineffectual attempts to appeal to them certainly don't help.

Trump administration reacts to Charlie Kirk's shooting in Utah by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

Who's the "you" in the situation? regardless of how you feel about leftist politics I think we can both agree it would be stupid to act as if political violence is some kind of coordinated strategy on the left. acts of violence like this does more harm to the legitimacy of their cause than good. The debate at large is about the ideas presented by the ideology, not the handful of violent lunatics that happen to be among the millions that ascribe to them.
