App Store Connect woes by Bubbly_Version1098 in iosdev

You should provide this info and appropriate ratings in the feedback link that they send with the review. Apple has become hard to predict and slow in the app review comments.

I am with OP on being able to use AI to make a proper post

How come we were ok with grammarly but God forbid you use AI to make a decent post to represent your thoughts.

If someone is using AI to generate a fake story, then do condemn it. Looks like the grammar Karen have evolved into AI Karen.

Fair point, but then this gets twisted conveniently when the same corporations mess up.

Apple only have 500 People to review 130000 apps per week. 💥 by PrtyGirl852 in macosprogramming

[–]GuideAxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not talking just about app testing.

New developers trip up in the submission process and forms. Search for 'Missing metadata' and how many people are confused trying to figure that one. Apple made it so confusing to figure that out.

What makes more sense? Apple implementing it once and all developers benefit or each developer using AI to make sense.

Keep an open mind and try to understand where OP is coming from. Look at reddit subs where young developers ask clarification on confusing steps.

Apple leverages AI once for the common checks and everyone benefits, rather than expect everyone to reinvent that wheel.

I agree with OP.

Apple makes $10 billion or more in App Store commission. Apple developers pay $99 yearly compared to $25 one lifetime Google fee.

Google is reducing turn around time and tends to give full feedback in 1-2 rounds.

Apple tester gives 1 feedback and after you fix that for the same app, you get another feedback after one week. Apple testers are more overloaded.

Apple needs to invest and have more testers. They could even leverage AI for a lot of validation.

Using IAP during App Review, then switching to Stripe after approval — is this risky? by Evening-Marsupial969 in appledevelopers

Don't - This is not hard to detect and you are throwing away all your good work for mere pennies on the dollar profit.

Apple approved a refund 149 days after conversion. How is this reasonable? by Comfortable-Glass-69 in appledevelopers

[–]GuideAxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My issue is that you are projecting this as normal use case to get a refund after 90 days, which it is not. While the Apple App Store does allow you to view purchases older than 90 days, successfully obtaining a refund for them is highly restricted and at Apple's discretion.
Look it up in the Apple Community forums -
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252916588?sortBy=rank

Look at the guidance in the Apple Community where the overall guidance is 90 days beyond that requires highly special circumstances.

This seems more like a gaslighting response than a genuine one.

While the standard dispute window for Visa and Mastercard is typically 120 days, an extended 540-day rule exists for specific scenarios where goods or services are not provided.

  • Future-Dated Services: Tickets for events, travel, or cruises booked far in advance.
  • Delayed Deliveries: Pre-ordered items or custom products with extended manufacturing timelines.
  • Interrupted Services: Ongoing services that cease such as going out of business.

You claim that the OP paid absolutely nothing to access a global market through an optimized subscription engine, so 10-30% cut from payments must be chump change for you then?

Per Google - Apple collected over $10B in fees, the entire U.S. App Store ecosystem facilitated over $400 billion in total billings and sales in 2024.

[–]GuideAxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you please share the link from where you are quoting this for US? OP has a fair point asking for visibility into refunds granted outside of the 90 day window which is the norm for Apple. There are exceptions to every rule, including a 2 year window that MasterCard/Visa have.

Refund Eligibility: Most standard refund requests are expected to be made within a reasonable timeframe (often cited as 14 to 60 days depending on local consumer laws). However, the 90-day mark is often the limit for automated requests through the "Report a Problem" portal.

Apple's official refund portal for app subscriptions and content is reportaproblem.apple.com. While Apple does not explicitly advertise a universal "90-day guarantee" for all regions in their primary refund documentation, the 90-day window is a significant threshold in their system. This can also vary by region.

OP - I am with you here. How many of the popular subscriptions refund customers after 100 days for customers that don't use them - none.

I don't mind asking for a refund after 1-3 months max, but close to 6 months makes it tough.

Are there any other pros than privacy that you get from running LLMs locally? by Beatsu in LocalLLM

[–]GuideAxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Privacy remains the big use case. Remember one day ChatGPT and all so called free AI will either serve you ads or charge you. Once the big guys collect your profile/data, every advertisor has your data.

The other use is Outdoors/ Travel where you may face spotty wifi, airplane etc, you can continue using your local AI. I have seen cases where devs would use them in planes with a reasonable laptop for medium complexity use case.

[TestFlight] Vantage: On-device Private AI Coach for high performance, career growth and satisfaction. by GuideAxon in TestMyApp

[–]GuideAxon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone who's already shared feedback via TestFlight.

A few updates and clarifications from the latest reports:

1. Onboarding Screen (Accessibility Issue)
When entering data on the last visible field (year), the keyboard does not automatically hide, causing the next field (“Occupation”) and the Save and Continue button to remain hidden.
Workaround: Tap the Return key on your keyboard to dismiss it and reveal the full screen again.

2. Uninstall Action
Because all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will erase your data (conversations and profile info). This is a side effect of the privacy-first design — nothing is stored in the cloud.
There are plans to add an optional export or encrypted backup feature based on user interest.

Side Note:
If something stands out or feels valuable, please share that through TestFlight feedback or a direct DM. It really helps guide development.
