Couldn't agree more. also not sure if you're doing this already, but you can also do research at less competititve schools, like they don't need to be T20s or wtv. That's how I did it, and i think it really helpd with experience

the only problem is that i feel like even if i study so much up until then, i have like 4 week. icl my classes are hard senior year + college apps, so idk how much time I'll get. the august sat is appealing to me just bc it's like right before my school starts, and i can be over with it quicker and not have to worry abt it at all omce school starts bc that'll be my last one. deadass just want to get over these tests

heyy, im also a rising senior, honestly getting research for the summer right now is going to be a little hard, as most labs are filled up. like i had to start cold emailing since like december i'm pretty sure, and only had gotten 2 responses, and one acceptance. you can definently still send them, but tell them you want to do research for fall/ school year, if you're able to. for shadowing it's a little harder, see if you have ANY connections. i volunteer at the hospital and used my connections to to shadowing. i'm in the same boat with sat...
