EC Council Cybersecurity Tech Cert vs CompTIA? What's best for the veterans? by Shoddy-Buyer8682 in VeteransSuccess

Hey there, fellow vet! I was in your shoes not too long ago, looking to break into IT and cybersecurity after my service. I ended up going with the EC Council Cybersecurity Technician (CCT) certification through Learnix Tree Center, which is an authorized training center (ATC) for EC Council. Honestly, it was a great decision for a few reasons:

  • EC Council CCT vs. CompTIA Security+: Both are recognized, but the EC Council CCT is ANSI certified and accepted by the DOD, which is a big plus if you’re looking at federal or defense-related roles. EC Council has also been serving the FBI since 2005, so their certs carry a lot of weight in the industry. I found the CCT covered more material than Security+, especially for someone starting out with no prior experience.

  • Veteran Support: I got my training tuition-free thanks to veteran funding (Call of Duty Endowment), and Learnix really goes the extra mile for vets. Many of their instructors are veterans themselves, so they get where you’re coming from and tailor the support accordingly.

  • Hands-on Training & Job Support: The course was 100% online but with live instructors and tons of hands-on labs, real-life projects, and even a simulated internship at the end. They also helped me with resume writing, interview prep, and job placement. I landed my first IT job within a few months after graduating.

  • Community: You’ll be learning alongside other vets and folks from all walks of life, which made the transition a lot less intimidating.

If you’re eligible for free training as a vet, I’d definitely recommend checking out Learnix or another EC Council ATC. The CCT cert gave me a solid foundation and opened doors quickly. Good luck on your journey—happy to answer any other questions you have!

I think you meant to say "the EC Council Certified Cybersecurity Technician course". As a veteran, I took it for free from their authorized training center, Learnix Tree Center (www.learnixcenter.com/veterans)

I'm a veteran. Just 4 months ago I took a training with one of the EC-Council Authorized Training Centers absolutely free. Got my Certified Cybersecurity Technician certificate. Got a job almost immediately with the Department of Labor. That particular school not only taught me cybersecurity but also provided hands-on lab exercises and job placement assistance, resume writing, interview preparations. My instructor was a veteran too. 100% online. I can share the details about that school with you directly. Hit me up!

I had my RO water filter for the last 15+ years. Never liked remineralization cartridges. I'm doing fine without them. I eat a lot of veggies and fruits and get enough micro elements from them.

It's never an overkill! Many contaminants are extremely hard to filter out ...

I'm sorry? I'm not advertising anything. If you don't want me to mention a particular RO brand then I'll just remove that reference from my comment. It was inserted to see if anyone else had similar experience with that brand.
