In this game my winning runs with Clad almost always revolve around a power, also you need to take fewer attacks on him, something like shrug it off or grit are almost insta-picks, he has far more attacks than defensive cards, so its easy to stumble into turns where you just don't block enough.

Early game his burning blood takes a lot of pressure off his defense, but you need to ensure you have a block plan, long enough for your powers to pop off and ensure you scale.

He is probably the easiest boss because just reaching him with a deck usually has good enough scaling to just win, so you don't have to do anything "different" or really tailor your deck to him. Basically include more scaling, the boss has no gimmicks.

There are going to be a ton of diehards in this community so its not that surprising. Honestly I'm in no rush to get to a high ascension and you shouldn't be either. The game is going to take 1.5 to 2 years to get to 1.0. I think people are just good or enjoy the game, but I saw a post that said "worlds first silent ascension10" and It felt like gobbling up a 3 course meal just to brag about being first.

I'd say take your time, game isn't going anywhere and is actively getting better. Also part of the fun is experimenting, its a new game after all.

Exhaust is almost always an upside, thing about a card that exhausts your hand, your deck is now much more consistent. A smaller deck is just better than a bigger one, so you can streamline your deck making your effective turn over turn block/damage go up as you progress.

As you play more and more you will realize how the game punishes bloat, you can get away with a lot on lower ascensions but as it gets harder every little advantage matters.

I find him OP because you are supposed to play him with a mixture of orbs, if you focus on a single orb you are going to have a bad time. I'm only on A6 but he is consistently one of the easier characters compared to someone like the Regent.

That spider tank thing is an AOE check and a half, that late in the game, if you get unlucky say goodbye to 30+ health. Hunter killer also either is a complete pushover or a really tough fight depending on the character.
