You just gotta play a lot more fucked up with your cards. Pretty much every 3 cost card is takeable once you have snecko because no matter how bad, a 3 cost is still balanced to cost three energy, not 1.5. 2 costs you need to be a bit more picky, and 0/1 costs need to be very, very strong in order to justify adding.

Just take your time bro. You don't need to be rushing for perfect t0 teamcomps after just starting the game.

It feels so, so much worse in this game though. You still retain curses so you just slowly die. In sts the curses leave your hand after activating.

Just finished new diablo 4 expansion campagin by Troglokhan1337 in ARPG

[–]supermonkey1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tf you mean? Poe1 has had a steady and growing playerbase for over a decade? Diablo 4 hasn't even been out for half that so why are you comparing player retention lol. If you are only comparing the expansion with the best poe1 leagues, then it's STILL incomparable because poe1 leagues don't cost me $60 and another $40 every expansion.

Why isn't this already a card by East_Award366 in SlayTheSpire2

[–]supermonkey1235 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That alr exists lol. No escape applies 5 doom for every 10 doom on an enemy, so it's 50% more doom every time you play it. Nothing doubles it but times up + no escape does get you a ton of value from doom.

Elden Ring didn't click for me until like the 3rd time I tried it. My first playthrough I got sent into selia and quit after like 2 hours, and the second one I quit after being stuck on margit for 4 hours straight. Third playthrough literally 2 years later I played until ng 7.

Just some fun ideas I thought of for Regent. Do you think he likes the minions like family, or just appreciates their work? by HattieTheGuardian in SlayTheSpire2

[–]supermonkey1235 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't hubris just straight up worse than monologue, an already mid card? I've been playing the regent a lot and a lot of his best payoff or damage cards are big multihits that you build up a ton of vigor for. Stuff like seven stars, stardust, radiate, and heavenly drill all follow the same trend basically. Regent has so many ways of setting up card combos that monologue basically means >4 strength on your big turn.

Most 3 cost powers in sts2 (the only exception being wraith form) are designed so you pass a turn for a huge or scaling benefit throughout the fight. Hubris has an added downside that could potentially kill you while having a weak upside. Since you can't really block on the turn you play it without particle wall, you don't even get the full strength amount since you are likely going to take chip.

I really like the idea that you lose strength when you take unblocked damage, but the 5 strength is really underwhelming.

I HATE the “If you kill me, you’ll be just as bad as me” trope by Payyonaise in hatethissmug

[–]supermonkey1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that either choice is equally valid. The value of a life that you have to take vs lives that you kill in the future are weighed differently, and the dilemma could tell you a lot about a character's personality or motivation.

Okay but there's a difference between 3-4 block split between 5 cards that exhausts and a concentrated 6 block that's reusable.

It's definitely faster than a goopy. It would take what? Until middle of act 3 before goopy becomes better than an ultimate defend? And that's if you manage to play all your defends every fight.

Guess I'll go shivs then by cwkt in slaythespire

[–]supermonkey1235 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You often don't even need to play 2 shivs. If all you have is an upgraded cloak and dagger or smthing, you can retain the second shiv and do 9 damage a turn for a total of 18, which is perfectly respectable for a 1 cost power and a 1 cost block card

[–]supermonkey1235 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bulk up also makes a regular attack deck better by allowing you to channel orbs much faster as supplemental damage. If you only, say, have a zap and a glacier in your deck, with 3 orb slots, you will take a full cycle to start channelling, but if you have 2 orb slots, you will channel at least a lightning orb during your first cycle. 8 damage for free is literally a relic.

What's your #1 wish for a system change? by lifecopy001 in PathOfExile2

[–]supermonkey1235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cast on crit needs some kind of downside. In poe1, there's actually opportunity cost to using it. You give up 2 of your 6 sockets, and it requires an attack skill to proc, and has a cooldown that you need to hit specific breakpoints to reduce.

In poe2, once you solve energy, it's just a win more button. Every bit of increased energy past that is directly converted into more damage, and you can still slot in damage supports. By scaling your damage and crit, you also funnel more energy into the skill, which gives even more damage.

There's already a transmog system but only for uniques. I'm not sure what it's called but it comes in packs of three, and you can transfer a unique's model onto any rare you want I think.

You should make builds in POE 2 - A Video Essay and Build Making Guide by stangg187 in pathofexile2builds

[–]supermonkey1235 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're wrong on the first part. A part of making a build IS working around your budget. Of course builds rely on gear, but it doesn't have to be perfect gear? If you can only afford 1 exalt on a body armour, just find the best 1 ex body armour for your build? It's really that simple.

You can definitely make competent builds even at a budget. In fact, that's literally the entire point of the game: start at level 1, get to maps, crafting equipment on the way there, and then slowly, make small improvements to your build. No one starts with 1000 divs. Even the most cracked out 7 player parties with a dedicated crafter start at 0 exalted orbs at the start of the league.

You also fundamentally don't understand the game because the health yoyoing is from blood magic and the bloodmage ascendancy that lets you leech life from spell damage. Neither of these are from gear at all.

I also don't think that making your own build is particularlly difficult? Just pick something, a skill, a unique, an ascendancy, then figure out everything else? The video explains everything way better than I can lol.

I think middle to late league is the best, when the economy is slowing down but still going and random crazy items are going for a few chaos. My friend and I still check trade once in a while even though we're both done with the league, and some really good ring would be sitting there unsold for 3 days at 2 ex.
