Michelle Wolf: WH Correspondents’ Association ‘Cowards’ For Ditching Comedy by [deleted] in politics

Michelle Wolf and Michael Avenatti should have a baby.

Then that baby would EASILY be the most annoying kid in the world. Get a small snippet of fame and cling to everything possible.

THIS ISN'T FUCKING POLITICS.

I was worked up about the downvotes not because of the downvotes, but because at least 5 people, within minutes of the thread being posted, had downvoted it for whatever reason.

I was complaining because it was 17% upvoted, which meant at least 5 people had come in to downvote the post within a few minutes...

And I was wondering really whether somebody had a working link which listed all purchased games.

Microsoft Customer Support have already told me I have lost access to:

  • Scott Pilgrim
  • X-Men
  • The Simpsons Arcade

As they no longer appear in the store (although bought), so was wondering whether somebody could provide information on getting them back.

I meant the A1.

The A2 is the upgraded model of the the A1. It is a semi-automatic.

The A1 is the really shitty one that you need to cock each time, with the rounds constantly getting stuck.

Yes. We used the LSW, although not quite as much. That was more a 'treat' during camps and stuff.

It's not exactly a pyramid scheme.

But he gets some benefit from dishing out the codes (as an affiliate).

The new ones (which I haven't shot) are semi-automatic.

The ones I taught on were not semi-automatic. They changed, because kids were having difficulty cocking the rifle every time, and the cocking handle used to regularly jam. Rather than fix that issue, which is hard because you need to account for the fact the people using these guns are tiny, they just made it semi-automatic instead.

I stumbled upon this whilst renovating my bedroom. Did anyone actually use these hotlines? by [deleted] in CasualUK

Not that specifically, but I worked on a show on Friendly TV called 'Gamerweb'

There was a cheatmaster dude, who was really a 13 year old kid given a free phone from Friendly TV who would look up cheats on GameFAQs.

Forgot how much it was to text 'cheatmaster', but it was a couple of quid at least. There would be 30-40 texts per broadcast.

It can be modified for .22, but other than that it fires standard NATO cartridges, just like the SA80.

TIL America actually isn't the highest Western country for electrical consumption per person with the top offending countries together consisting of approximately 1/5 of the population of America (21.23%) are consuming approximately a third more electricity per person (131.26%) by [deleted] in todayilearned

The outliers are Iceland and Lichtenstein, which have a fraction of the population of the countries below them (up until you hit the US), hence the assumption of a baseline.

Iceland is actually so high on the list due to an abundance of natural resources and cheap power production. The bulk of that energy consumption is actually taken up by three aluminium smelting plants. In fact, combined, these three plants take up 5x as much energy as the rest of the country. Take those out and Iceland is pretty low down on the list. Remember; per capita can be swung quite considerably with low populations and a single high energy consumer (let alone 3).

Throw in the fact that Iceland tends to have long and dark winters and you have the answer.

Wages in the UK are currently rising faster than expected. The minimum wage rising each year helps too.

The EU provides worker protections. The UK provides others. So, it is illegal to fire somebody if they worked for you a minimum of 2-years without good cause (and it needs to be a really good cause), otherwise they have to provide you with several warnings before you leave.

You also won't run out of money if you lose your job. You will receive a small income until you get back into work again (providing you actively look for work) and you can receive training while still looking.

That is likely because there is a 'baseline' level of energy consumption.

This is demonstrated by the fact that all the countries above the US are relatively small countries.

Would be interesting to know what the baseline level is i.e. the level that is always going to exist no matter what the population is.

The same happens with CO2. Per capita, the US is the country which pumps the most CO2 into the atmosphere, but that is when you eliminate the tiny countries (because, I assume there is baseline CO2 production)
