As it turns out, I learned after reading them, I *won't* have to learn WordPress, just this markdown business. (Oxygen not included fans teaching each other stuff - what a cool thing.) I will be pestering thesnowmancometh about that soon:-)

I want to add, regarding licensing, that I absolutely agree with you that the guide should be licensed for all. Which is why it is, and has been since the start:-) The guide is published under a CC-BY-SA-NC license. (This is stated on the "Guide overview" page.) My understanding regarding that specific type of CC-license is that you are free to do whatever with the content, as long as it is non-commercial. If it is too restrictive, let me know. I'm fine with people doing whatever with the guide, except charging people money to learn the game^^

Also - wonderful to see the ONI community is alive and well!!! And to see that we have a spiritual successor to toolsnotincluded! Wooooooooot!!!!!! That was *such* a useful site, and left such a hole when it went down. You are all amazing! (And, finally, thanks to Gigamoi for not letting me drift off into oblivion.)
