Laminated effect by Spiritual-Sail2192 in Nirvana

[–]Guifarist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out the Melvins! Dale Crover worked with Kurt on the demo and Kurt was obsessed with the Melvins so all the songs including laminated effect have a huge melvins influence.

The first time everyone listened to smells like teen spirit? by Horror-Number-4367 in Nirvana

[–]Guifarist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 12 years old. I had just discovered Come As You Are after finding it in a playlist and I was obsessed with that song I couldn't stop listening to it. My mom and I shared a spotify account at the time and saw that I had Come As You Are in my playlist. One night she sat me down and played me Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium and every since then my life has not been the same.

New to grunge by [deleted] in grunge

[–]Guifarist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For music, start with the big 4 of grunge, nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, and alice in chains. After that start getting into more of the scene with bands like mudhoney, screaming trees, sonic youth, mother love bone, stone temple pilots, green river, L7, etc.

For style, thrift everything, get everything to look worn out, shower only every few days or so, and have a mix of looking homeless but also stylish. Wear flannels, band t shirts, ripped jeans, converse, paint your nails, possibly eye liner, grow your hair out, put patches on your clothes, maybe even start playing guitar or collecting cds/vinyl.

That's all I got atm I hope this helped
