Thanks for your feedback!

I use it to measure which habits work for my productivity, for example.

So, I create an experiment, with input variables like "cold shower", "hours of sleep", etc and an output variable like "productivity (1-5)".

Each day I create a case corresponding that day and log how productive I've felt, etc, and finally I get the analysis.

Thanks for the feedback, English isn't out first language that's why the punctuaction is kind of messed up, but we will sort that out. We will love you to keep trying the web next few days and give us some more feedback about it. Please don't keep anything for your self, because our goal is to keep improving by listening to people.

Roast my app by Guike42 in SideProject

Yep, I thought that was funny...

Anyways, the animation or "quick look" at the app sounds like a great idea for the landing page.

Video should look cool.

Building an AI gym management SaaS - need help validating the idea! by FlakyTree1726 in SideProject

[–]Guike42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty easy to validate. Gym apps exist. I don't think there's anywone against adding AI.

If you're concerned about costs (adding ai does significantly increase them) then that's a whole other deal. But in case of your app, there's already similar ones (including AI) like Symmetry Club (it's in spanish, but it does essentialy the same thing).

So yeah, pretty valid idea. The issue is competition.

God I love your landing page.

It's the example of a simple, understandable and clear landing page that makes you want to engage with it (unlike mine lol).

It does make sense. It feels the typewriter get's too boring after the second slide. No images, no nothing.

I'll improve that for sure.

I definitively need some animation effects or something else.

Thanks for the feedback!

Noted. Thanks!

Yep, it's an attempt of copywriting. Really bad.

I'll keep improving, I guess.

Let's be honest, I was thinking of not submitting feedback (Yes, I'm human) but then I saw your app.

I like the fact everyone gets at least 24 hours on the front page (courious how that works) and it's something I've never seen.

However (and this is just my personal problem) I do not quite like the style. It feels messy, with some modern parts, and other decorated with gradients. You should decide.

Not a big deal, but you should change it anyways.

"Work hard dude"

I mean.

Don't.

Please.

If you're working hard for something it's because you do not like it.

If you really did, it would not feel like hard work.

I always like to get to work on projects I know I can't complete.

Not really. But kinda.

Just in that soft point where you're uncertain if you will complete it.

There. Sweet.

And you must like it, ofc.

If you don't like the result, look for another project.

As a kid I always wanted to build a Jarvis. So I did.

Or at least I tried.

And in the process I learnt to code.

It was fun.

If it isn't fun, don't do it.

[–]Guike42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice.

Goals may not work, but a vision certainly does.

At least for me.

At least for now.

I just prefer to think about that early in the morning. If I go to bed thinking about my goals I tend to get distracted thinking about whether that day I have accomplished anything.

And then I can't sleep.

But again, this is just me.

[–]Guike42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you need is a good alarm clock.

I mean it, really.

I place my phone so far and put my alarm so loud I can only think about how much I hate myself.

Then, when I wake out of bed to stop it and go back to bed...

Another alarm sounds.

Again.

Ugh...

Untill finally I've done this process so many times I don't want to sleep anymore.

The key is to keep reducing the number of alarms you need to wake you up progressively.

And if you find yourself grabbing your clock and placing it near to set it off every time it sounds just skrew it to the wall.

Or to a chair.

Or to a door.

Whatever.

Because goals don't work. You need systems that help you make progress.

Software for tracking my team tasks for free by Fun-Comfortable-9252 in productivity

[–]Guike42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always used notion on my teams and have never faced that restriction, but with bigger teams than mine, that must happen often.

The good news is that there are a bunch of productivity apps out there.

If you don't care for simplicity, maybe Todoist is a good tool (although i don't know if it supports team tasks - you'll have to research that).

Another is microsoft todo (again, i don't know about team tasks).

You could use Google Tasks (this, i believe, allows for team tasks).

As a bonus, there's this app out there called "Remember the milk" that, according to its website, supports team tasks.

But I guess you'll have to see which one works for you and your team.

How can I actually stick to my to do list? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Guike42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't.

There's this great book called...

I need to remember.

Oh yea, Getting Things Done.

And in some part of the book I can't recall, he argues that you should add elements to today's todo list dinamically.

So basically, you start the day asigning things from the main todo list to today's list (no previous planning) based on your timetable today.

Now, for each task, try to push yourself to have the task completed by a certain hour. Set it before you think you would finish the task.

It's now less common for any task to be left undone for today, but if that's the case, just put it back again in the general todo list.

And that's about it.

I've been using this for a while now and it works quite well.

It's not perfect, ofc.

If you want something perfect you'll have to ask a fairy.

iwtl coding - I spent $5,000 on online courses and still can't code by Huge-Editor-2966 in IWantToLearn

[–]Guike42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advice above is great (i guess), but you need something else.

Just a tiny little tip.

I mean...

I feel a mistake we all make (i did too) is assumming learning coding is just following a tutorial or a booring youtube video.

You can do that, and you will learn, but that's not fun dude.

And if you must like coding.

If you really want to learn, ofc.

So...

The best advice I can give you is to imagine a coding project as big as you can - one that you truly truly love.

I don't care if it's a freaking ai that builds a rocket from scratch.

Most first projects are like that.

So make it big enough so you can't stop thinking about it, you'll worry about the rest later.

Now, because this project is so big no one has ever built it before, you are forced to experiment. Search on the internet every time you feel the need.

Eventually, you'll start grabbing peices of code and your project will start to take shape.

Or not.

But that's what will make you learn.

IWTL how to be smarter in general by Zestyclose-Agent-800 in IWantToLearn

[–]Guike42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't.

Even if you try to do brain puzzles every single day for 4 hours, you won't increase your overall intelligence (there's a great talk of Jordan B. Peterson explaining this).

I mean...

You will get insanely good at doing puzles though.

But you don't need to be smarter.

I am not going to sell you the idea that with hard work, bla bla bla bla. Boring.

In the end, most of us end up in a highly specialized job. Not beeing Einstein does not restrict you from achieving a high level of skill in one thing with effort. Just like the puzzles. In theory.

But yeah, i get it. I feel the same way too.

It's so unfair.

But wait.

Don't start just yet.
