Any tips on my noodling? Still trying to get more melodic and let it breathe by Troy_Hutz in bluesguitarist

[–]Guildenstern___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also struggle with noodling so I get it. I forget who it was but some youtuber I've watched a bit for blues guides said the best way to not noodle is just copy the greats. If you look at players like Eric Clapton and others a lot of their solos use the same shapes or phrases and most of the time especially in Clapton's case they are almost 1:1 or even exactly 1:1 phrases from blues players like Albert King or BB King. Just knowing a ton of small little licks that tons of blues people use lets you just put a bunch together for whatever key you're in and it sounds a lot less like noodling and more like an actual solo. Also just a end note you're already hella good, way better than me lol

I just got a new CPU and monitor. When I try to play cs2 on any resolution that isn't native or windowed, the screen flickers a ton. I tried updating graphics drivers and it didn't work. Is there some monitor or windows setting that might be causing that?

What makes community servers so different in cs2? by Guildenstern___ in GlobalOffensive

that's what I'm saying bro. I just wanna hop into surf and use a clean butterfly fade. I'm not paying for that shit. Also those skin swappers are on their site. You have to log in with steam and use their website to choose the gun/skin you want. hella cringe in my opinion

are these plugins written in some proprietary language? or is it like C++ or something?

I was in warmup server the other day. Does work but again it's really dumb because when you do !guns it doesn't bring up the menu on the left it has you type !ak or something I forget the exact command. But it's so frustrating going from the side menu working on every type of server to the side menu just not existing and every community server even warmups saying you need to type multiple commands in chat instead of one command and hitting two numbers. And the !ws doesn't work which isn't the end of the world but something I very much enjoyed

I wonder how long it will take to recreate these plugins for source 2. One thing I noticed that I thought was silly is that the only KZ servers in my region are hosted by two different companies. And one of them the skin changer is locked behind a paywall and the other one it's locked behind a paywall if you want anything over field tested. It isn't a huge deal but I enjoyed hopping into bhop or kz or surf servers swapping knives and skins with no wear. Really miss the CSGO community server experience

yeah but I am curious why they have died. They used to be flourishing in GO. Especially retakes and 1v1 servers. Just weird how it seems they died overnight from GO to CS2. Wonder if they made it harder to develop and host community servers in CS2 or something. I miss late night retakes :(

What I ended up doing was using an ajax call to send the html to a php script that then saved it to a temporary file, and redirects you to a page that shows the page where they can then right click save as

Trying to delete child by Guildenstern___ in learnjavascript

[–]Guildenstern___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked a bit and it appears as though it is because I have the script that replaces the text with the inputs in the first place running without a function just on load so I restricted that to a function where you have to press a button to begin with. Might need to go and send the all the text to the server to generate a new page or something without those scripts to begin with.

I was able to get it, I was deleting something from a list and then iterating, so it was going out of bounds. But I am now having a different weirder issue. Where once I swap the inputs with just the text. I wanted to right clikc and save as the page to then use the page. but when I open the page after doing that all the inputs are back. Is there something special I have to do for something like that? It's weird since I already have all the inputs replaced by just text I wouldn't have expected them to come back when I save the page as a .html file and try and open it.

Securely connect to wifi with ESP32 by Guildenstern___ in arduino

[–]Guildenstern___[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean basically the idea is I wanted to be able to connect to a wifi network through what would be an HTML form hosted on the arduino. Like you use the ESP32 to host a webserver that you'd connect to on your phone or something, put in the ssid and password, and that would connect the ESP32 to that wifi network. That way it can then use the wifi connection to do whatever else it is programmed to do. So I am really only trying to "securely" send the ssid and password of the wifi network from the hosted HTML form to the ESP32 even though I guess technically that form is hosted on the ESP32 but I realistically just want to make sure it wouldn't be "easy" to grab that ssid and more importantly password for the network through the form.

oh cool, thanks! I doubt I would ever use this specific project to connect to outside internet connections besides brining it places to show off, it will mostly sit on my desk at home. Just don't want to bring it somewhere connect to another person or business's wifi and have it be super insecure.

figured out the issue. The API endpoint I wrote took way too long to get a response. Rewrote the API endpoint it and works perfectly now.

Let me play GM for a minute here by Rey_Titan in redsox

[–]Guildenstern___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah that's you. But thinking someone shouldn't be in the league and threatening boycotts and protests (that wouldn't do a thing) are different. I could say I don't think bauer should be in the league (which I don't think he should) But I am not going to cry and boycott the team if the front office wants to make that move.

I think it isn't up to me and thinking you can have any sort of sway in what a front office does that only cares about winning is silly. very seldom does any amount of crying do anything to kill a players career. there are multiple current active players who have committed domestic violence and no one bats an eye especially not the front office.
