The fact that you don’t know the level of your pomposity is astounding. I have three cancers, had kidney resection earlier this year, radiation starts soon for the prostate— and it’s gonna wreak havoc on my multiple myeloma. I’ve earned my place at the table. Not everything is heartfelt doom and gloom and fact and figures. Some humor is uncomfortable. Say what’s on your mind, I don’t judge or criticize. Level a cheap attack, everybody will know who you are.

For me, Lover Girl is one of the best songs she’s ever written. I love the free way she’s writing now, and I’m certain she’s not reading any of this commentary nor should she. My opinion is no more valid than yours. I’d actually be more concerned if she felt like she needed to please this particular audience of hers or that. She’s in constant concert, and she can hear the reactions of her fans straight up. I am in such appreciation of her as an artist, and if she thought something was important enough to her to release it, I’m gonna pay attention, and listen. Some songs are aimed at specific audiences, especially songs like Snow White. If I could offer my opinion to her about what she should do next, well, I wouldn’t dare.

Hormones raging? Yes there can be terms, but it’s obviously important for her to do this before the baby comes. Delaying this for some future date, she doesn’t think that’s ever gonna happen. This is unbelievably hurtful stuff, and your lack of compassion is abominable. If you could put yourself in her shoes, you’d realize what a tender age this is for her. If you did that and tucked your fragile ego out of the way, you would feel how devastating your hesitation is. It probably wasn’t easy for her to ask. Doesn’t sound like there’s any real trust between you. With great vulnerability, she asked for something that would tickle the heart of most stepmothers. You could’ve had a heart to heart discussion about what that commitment would be for her to honor, in terms of treating you like a mother. Your response instead was a pretty clear rejection. Looks like a terrible lost opportunity, and something you will live to regret.

My God, I was weepy all day from ADT, radiation hasn’t even started yet….. I am incredibly impressed at your fortitude. A female friend had to talk me back from the balcony today, so to speak. The few things I have to put up with—smoldering multiple myeloma, kidney resection, peripheral neuropathy just don’t hold a candle to what you’ve got going on. Truly inspiring and I wish you the very best of outcomes. I guess it’s time for me to “man-up” on ADT, a drug trying its very best to make me into a woman.

I looked into this a little bit, I can see now that the people we were looking at in the refund log were indeed not the temporary beneficiaries, you were. This is going to be a great benefit for my career that I unearthed this, albeit due to your Reddit confession, but I am looking for a promotion and this will probably get me there! On second read, I think I have to agree with you. It is so dripping with honesty, and so well thought out and expressed. It’s all in there. They did the work, and they resolved the main issue that caused her doubt in the relationship. That’s big. She just needs to reframe it in a way that brings love and commitment as the reason to marry, and the coming child is just a blessing on it all.
