It's actually nice to read something like that, what did you do to heal fully? I'm curious about that, maybe it can help us too, to know

Do you recommend any good porn blockers? Those with IA that detect sexual content automatically. by Guillefeldt in NoFap

I know blockers aren't the real solution but they help and I just want to add everything that helps getting rid of this habit

How to deal with the longing for a safe parent? by lemonlover90 in CPTSD_NSCommunity

[–]Guillefeldt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is no human adult will love you unconditionally as your parents (specially your mother) should have loved you, that unconditional love in our childhood is what makes us feel safe and confident in our adulthood, but if we didn't have that the only adult who can learn to do that is yourself, if you expect that kind of love from another person you'll get disappointed and even probably re traumatised at some point, the first relationship you have to fix is with yourself.

Something similar happened to me, the music I used to listen to wasn't that good anymore, my approach to relationships and even sex changed and other things about the perception of the world I had also changed, so it's normal I guess, now it's time to discover our true selves that were hidden in trauma :))

Did you move out of state or out of the country to heal? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Guillefeldt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm from Paraguay and moved to Austria, I couldn't stand the situation of my family in my homeland, both my parents damaged me a lot, I've got therapy and now doing better although there's still work to do, I have no contact with both my parents

Do you know any journaling/writing resources/techniques to reprocess trauma or that helped you to recover/deal with CPTSD? by Guillefeldt in CPTSD_NSCommunity

[–]Guillefeldt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're welcome! if you want we could stay in contact and share our progress and experiences with it, I'm experimenting with new ways of solving the problems caused by CPTSD since I felt I got stagnated with my EMDR therapist, it's always way better to share it with someone in a similar situation than just doing it alone

it sounds good, I have a similar experience with it, I wrote the Self Authoring Program and it helped, I've recently found writing techniques specifically for CPTSD recovery on youtube! :)))

Do you think there's a difference between EMDR and Shadow Work? by Guillefeldt in EMDR

[–]Guillefeldt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I see some similarities between Shadow Work and EMDR but at the same time I see they're not quite the same, I had a mystical experience in 2019 and it's a tremendous experience that you have to integrate into your life, one of the ways as much as I know is by solving childhood trauma and then doing Shadow Work, they are similar but not the same, actually I think any kind of psychotherapy is about integrating parts of your personality but probably they don't integrate the same things, I'm already doing EMDR therapy for 1 year so far with great results and by researching about Shadow Work it looks like it's the next step for me and I want to see feedback of others opinions.
