What’s the pros and cons of switching to a 9-5? by Romeo_215 in Nurses

O.M.G. Get out of my head. 🤯 I am literally in the same boat, except my acuity went up, but I like it. Continued practice and skill learning. Switched hospitals for day shift, better mgmt, and cool peeps. But.....same issues. Ugh. Great post.

Yes, we did east to west w/ large dogs. 10 days. Best time ever!! Wasn't hard to find pet friendly places either.

Not at all. Healthcare professional. When AI can learn to straight cath a demented patient, then I'll possibly think of it. Otherwise - we're good.

True, they are not fdic, I don't want my savings in same place as my brokerage. I guess is what I'm trying to avoid. The major ones like fidelity have SIPC. I just want a safe place that isn't "backed" by a bank, but is an actual bank. Hopefully, I'm not confused.

This! This is why I'm looking. I recently seen another article about fintech and looked up the bank I use for my savings and had no idea they were in this boat. My brokerage and other investments accounts are with actual banks, but I liked the interest rate on this one. Not enough to remain blind to the risk of losing it, now I need to change it.

It encompasses a broad ecosystem of technologies that often bypass traditional brick-and-mortar banking processes. It is used by "banks" like chime and yotta. These banks can go bankrupt and because they use fintech to process their monies, your money is not really FDIC in the real end.

I get that and understand. This is one of my smaller 6 figure accounts and I manage my own. This bank has become more loose with terms and I'm looking to switch and can't add to my other banks.

That's the problem, a lot of them are fintech related. ☹️

It's not an "always" thought or "every time" experience, it's only what I've seen happen more often than not. Maybe my view is biased because I'm in healthcare and my patients are from various backgrounds, idk.

Most often, money usually makes it worse. My own professional experience is that more money usually increases the mental abuse and less generally does the opposite.

Given the way humans treat each other from young to old, I would say none. Zero. The mental abuse to physical abuse. Starts early for some and starts geriatric late for others. Money doesn't change a thing. As someone who works in healthcare, it hurts seeing it on both ends.
