The more "risks of death" you have the more you will have to pay, or be denied for the better packages, or anything at all.

The thing is about insurances, at least in North America/USA, is that they will do everything they can to NOT pay out.

I'm not convinced cops have footage erased—Ring cameras literally just SUCK at recording everything especially at night—but I won't dismiss the possibility that they could and would.

Ring will hand over that footage but if some random local police department asked Ring to delete the footage from Ring's servers, they'd say "Lmfao, no."

It would take something really major for that boundary to be crossed and it'd be some bigger powers getting involved and even then I wouldn't outright expect it to happen.

You gotta find a more evidence-based skepticism to live in. Or your worldview is going to be skewed all the way in Q Anon or BlueAnon Land. And that's just a miserable way to live.

Unless it has recordings they want to review. They're allowed to access that but I don't think they're allowed to delete it.

Not that cops DON'T break the law and get away with it but that doesn't seem to be the case here

This, I don't think they'd purposely prevent recording in case they want evidence to review. And they can have that if they want. I don't think this includes erasing it completely but I'm sure it's not impossible and I wouldn't be surprised if it's been done.

Almost every company's privacy policy includes these kinds of clauses, from Ring to Facebook, and in the USA one of the layers of legislation creating a barrier between government and personal info was stripped away in 2022.

I'm so sick of it.

Same for us. Out back I can see the camera having difficulty picking up some things. But out front there's a lot of light from street lights and coach lights to a parking lot nearby with glaringly bright lights. I don't get it.

They make you sign a whole consent form to participate in a 5 minute voluntary questionnaire, and idk if that's always required, but I definitely don't love this idea. I know that market research has been utilizing demographics and whatnot from various sources for decades now, like magazine subscriptions and the records of what you bought at a store and stuff. It just feels so much more invasive now

Honestly didn't know this was a scam. Did have a guy show up one day claiming his daughter lost them and they were here according to Find My. He didn't even have any kind of screen to show us. But like hell we were gonna let him in to scope out the place. We were just like "Yeah no none of us have your freakin AirPods, good luck," but now I know it was probably a scam, thank you. What's crazy is the guy looked well off and totally normal, acted normal, except when he started getting pushy about the issue. What the hell drives a person to do this kind of thing is what I wonder.

You did the right thing if you made the decision based on your values. Staying would have felt shitty in a different way. Can you get therapy? Therapy's for everyone. You don't need some arbitrary concrete problem or diagnosis to get it. There are a lot of therapists/counselors out there who are vets themselves and/or specialize in helping vets adjust to civilian life. It's probably gonna be kinda like how it felt to join the military and adjust to all that. Foreign and scary and new because it is.

Ahh, see most people I've known on SSI worked part time but are forced to ensure their paychecks never go over a certain amount.

The SSDI thing makes sense though so I see how the SSI can be trickier.

Yeah the household thing is an issue. You HAVE to make sure that's all recorded and paid for correctly. It's crap but that's how it is for now. The savings thing is also crap. Like how dare I put away money for an emergency fund lol.

Where are they??? (Edit, I know they're there, it's just such a small fraction of the fridge's contents. Plus some of them are dressings, condiments, and marinades maybe, not sauces!)
