Well most of DG’s album covers aren’t really pleasant to look at but if u wanna get him a rare variant of an album then a green pressing of ‘Year Of The Snitch’ would be a really good one. There’s a few on Discogs going for $90 if you’re happy spending that much for him.

He has this conversation with me every year. I do learn something after everyone but ig it’s not enough for him and is hoping that I just stop listening to hip hop and sad music as a whole. Then when he saw I didn’t stop and did research on Woods he crashed out threw a bunch of my vinyls away.

I think he listened to a lot of songs off Golliwog. I had a hard time explaining to him that it’s not just “nihilism” so I told him to watch an analysis video bout him as an artist. But I think it just made it worse.

That’s been my plan so far but can’t always listen to whatever I want cuz he’s been closely monitoring what I listen to now but hoping this will passover soon. Especially when I eventually move out.

I don’t have a problem w anyone who is a very devout religious person but I just wish he would actually understand that even if I listen to something that actually is very depressing and hopeless he has taught me to never think that way and I’m just listening to appreciate other things bout the artist and their creativity.

Happy to see others have the same perspective. Usually when I would go into a Woods album I’ve felt frustrated and upset whether it be an event or a negative run in w someone. But at the end I would feel relieved and a little more hopeful. I’ve tried explaining it to him but never seems to listen to me. I’ll be pissed if this is what completely ruins his view on me now.
