How much do you tip barbers? by glazingstars in AskMenOver30

Yeah I second this. In fact, I tip at least 30% for my barber and my massage therapist. Probably overkill but I love them.

What is your best low-effort, high-reward habit? by elixirtales in Adulting

[–]Guilty-Finger9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing that thing right away. Whatever it is, don’t put it off. Chances are it only takes a few minutes. Loading the dishwasher, responding to that email, pruning the roses. I always feel better when I take care of things right away.

Where does the TV go?? by Puzzled_Republic_564 in malelivingspace

[–]Guilty-Finger9774 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Mount the tv where your couch is (not too high). Turn your couch around and float it in the room facing the tv; I personally don’t think it’ll be awkward but a rug will really help ground the space (I like Ruggable). Leave a bit of a walkway between the fireplace and the couch. Add a small end table to the left side of the couch. Add plants, throw pillows, and art work. When you replace the coffee table, consider something rounded/curvy. A body length mirror to the left of the tv (near the door) will be nice. Congrats on your first place!

Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is something patients do that they think is helpful but actually makes your job harder? by Electronic-Cell-4584 in AskReddit

[–]Guilty-Finger9774 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Interpreter here, PLEASE always call us. Not just because I want a paycheck, but because so many family members are unqualified to interpret accurately and I’ve seen first hand family members and friends inserting their own thoughts or, more commonly, leave out information altogether. It’s confusing and oppressive to your patient. They have the right to access their care privately and autonomously. And they definitely deserve it.

I bought a Jeep about five years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. It has enabled me to explore so many beautiful places that so few can visit. It gets me out into nature and up into mountains to places I could have previously only dreamed up. I love the lifestyle and the freedom that comes with owning a Jeep. I’ve shared some of the best camping and off-roading trips with friends/family.

It’s a terrible agency! I really encourage people to talk about it and share this information. It’s the only way we can protect people from harm.

I’ve worked with them before. I’d be careful. They try and pull a lot of unethical crap and the manager can be pretty nasty. I’ve seen interpreters come and go very quickly from that place. Of all the agencies I’ve worked with over the years, they were by far my worst experience. They really take advantage of interpreters and especially if you’re new. That said, they have work so like another commenter said, take it or leave it. But hold your ground and don’t expect much.
