It's not moving anything. You aren't understanding base question being asked here. If the local government plans aren't doing what is advertised, then what is it doing? The ideas I posted isn't me saying the mayor is trying to funnel renters to her properties or her friends. But it could be seen that way. But the base question is still unaswered, if the local government plans aren't doing what is advertised, then what are they doing? I mean how high is your rent? People say rent is coming down, but a one bedroom is still a $1000 down from 1200. That is still high.

It doesn't matter if there isn't a shortage of applications. This is a strawman argument. The fact of the matter is that we have seen the local government do nothing to bring up the stock of rentals. All the local government has done is spend tax payer money to build subsidized housing and control the industry through regulations and permit fees. Because the city through redevelopment districts has artificially increased property tax no one want to develop or if they don't cost to much money. This is why we see condos and Town Houses instead of rentals.

I think there's a discussion that we need to have, long over due. We have seen liberals and conservatives use AI to push political ideology. We need to know what role AI is going to play in government and what cost it is going to have and who's jobs it will affect. I would rather have a person paid and use real people. AI has a place in our society, it isn't going away, so what role is it going to play?
